I am a WDW vet - stay on-site there and don't usually venture offsite at all - except to stay at Universal! so really looking forward to a different vacation next year where we can walk out (or take a short bus ride) and sample non -Disney restaurants. I have seen posts about restaurants in the area but we need one with vegetarian choices to satisfy DD - pizza and veggie burger type meals are fine.

One favourite for us is Bubba Gumps and I know there is one at Garden Walk - we have tried this one in Orlando - DD ate from the kid's menu - hoping they will still let her eat from that as she will be 16. We have never tried a Taco Bell (honestly) and would like to do this one - she does like mildly spicy food - is there a veggie option here? We are not looking for fine dining as you can see - but there must be vegetarian options on the menu to satisfy DD - do you think most places would let her eat from the kid's menu if necessary? Italian restaurants are good but myself and DH don't want to eat pasta and pizza all the time either.

Taco Bell has their menu on-line, I just checked. Go to tacobell.com. It looks like they have several vegetarian options.

Never been to Bubba Gumps or Garden Walk for that matter. ;) But, if you go to Yelp.com and type in Anaheim in the search field, it will come up with some restaurants that would be close by and you can refine your search by food type.

One other resource that I have seen is the Howard Johnson discussion board that has some restaurant suggestions and I am pretty sure that some of them deliver or are close by. I will include the link here.

Happy planning!

Very useful link - thank you

Garden Walk has tons of places to eat, along with Bubba Gump they have a Cheesecake Factory, CA Pizza Kitchen & PF Chang's, if she likes vegetarian she will love the lettuce wraps at Chang's, they are sooooooooooo good!!!! There is also a Red Robin and a Joe's Crab Shack down Harbor by the Crowne Plaza, both very good and will have veggie options. My suggestion is to search for Anaheim Garden Walk on Google, you'll find the site and from there you can see all the restaurants available. Mimi's and Millie's are both very good, and I know Mimi's has veggie options, DTD also has quite a few really good places to eat. My biggest advice is to avoid IHOP as they are way overpriced and to avoid Captain Kidd's because it's just disgusting.

We're veggie too. Yes Taco Bell has options, but...wouldn't by my first choice of cuisine. :)

Mimi's is good (great veggie burger), and we loved the mac and cheese, salad, and garlic bread we got (for under $12 tax and tip) to go at Millie's one night...it was one serving of each, and the three of us shared, and we were stuffed. So good.

FYI, it's not budget, but we recently tried the Cheesecake Factory, and wow! Delish. They have a portobello sandwich that's just divine.

It's just that we've always wanted try a Taco Bell - so American! I think we'll definitely give Mimi's a try - so many options. I'll check out the Cheesecake Factory - overlooked that one - thought it was just desserts:goodvibes.

Re Red Robin and Joes Crab Shack - on the menus, I can see veggie options on the kids menus but not the adult - do you think we'll have any problems ordering for a 16yo off the kid's menu? Alternatively I wondered if Red Robin, say would do an adult Boca Burger?

if you want "American" and Socal kitsch, go to In and Out Burger. They have a veggie option...just ask at the register.
Some of the freshest and tastiest French Fries (chips to you) you will find anywhere:thumbsup2

Thanks

I love that Taco Bell is "american" LOL That's too funny, but very true. You won't find a TB in Mexico! LOL

Red Robin and Joe's, I'm sure you won't have ANY problems ordering from the kid's menu if you wanted to. I'm 38 and I've ordered from the kid's menu at RR, not at Joe's, I love the crab nachos too much for that, but not a problem at all at RR. Especially if you tell them you're vegetarian and you don't see anything on the "normal" menu you'd like but there is "this" on the kid's menu, would it be OK for you to order that?

One of our family's favourite is Buca di Beppo. It's about a mile south of DLR on Harbour near the Embassy Suites. It's a lot of fun and a real crowd pleaser.

Thanks

Red Robin does have veggie burgers. I *think* you can order almost any of their burgers with a Boca patty instead of the meat.

Personally Del Taco is way better then Taco Bell to me. For Taco Bell you can subsitute beans for meat to make things veggie.

As a veggy I like Cheesecake Factory and Buca di Beppo which has family style Italian food. Burger King is the one fast food place that offers a veggie burger on their menu.
