My wife and 3 kids aged 9-13 will be going to US/IOA, I am just wondering where the best value for meals are, not looking for anything really fancy, just decent food reasonably priced, for both lunch and dinner.
Mels is usually pretty well priced, and usually pretty good although last time I didn't feel that it was that great ... most of the restaurants are pretty well priced though.
If you can, try Mythos in the Lost Continent at Islands of adventure. Food is reasonably priced and gorgeous! Mythos is one of the best dining experiences at Universal Orlando.
The level of food you eat depends on how much money you want to spend. If you really want to save money, you could pack a cooler in the car, and come back at lunch. Next would be counter service places that serve pizza, burgers, and fries. After that it's sit down restaurants. And from there you go up to the really fancy places like Emiril's and Tchop Chop. There's something for every budget level.
A good way to save money is to buy 1 meal and share it. That way you save room for desert from snack stands around the park. Here's my menu page which was just updated with Nascar Menus. Universal Studios Menus
Thanks, for all the help, actually after looking at the menu's the prices are very reasonable, I was pleasantly surprised, also can I bring a backpack cooler into the park with water and snacks??

I agree. You may not think reasonable prices when you think Mythos, but for the quality you get it sure isn't much more than many counter service places. And the kid's meals are very reasonable and not junk.
