I am having a hard time deciding what type of bag to use at the park. I recently purchased a Lug cable satchel bag which has tons of room, but I like the idea of a one shoulder small backpack or a cinch bag. I am planning on having snacks and those collapsible water bottles. What do you find is the most comfortable style bag?

Once I had children, I used a diaper bag ... and until they were in school! I was NEVER concerned about having it stolen (bonus!)!!

Since then, I carry a bookbag ... just a cheap, throw-away type bag so if it gets yucky, I don't worry about it. I have carried the same one for YEARS, and it has plenty of room to pack all of the necessities for a great park trip!

I like a backpack. Not the kind one would use for hiking or camping. I just got the Vera Bradley Disney backpack and it's really nice. A lot of room, light weight. I also like the Dooney Disney backpacks.

My cousin and I both used the Kavu single strap backpacks on our trip last fall. We both really liked them!

Backpack.

I bring a water bottle with a large opening for pouring in the free ice water at the CS locations.

I love the Vera Bradley backpack. Its lite weight has lots of room and pockets. I do spray my with "camp out" water repellant a week before we go. YOu can find Camp Out at Wal Mart in the shoe dept.

One thing I also do is put things like asprin bottle, nail clippers, chapstick and other small items in a ziplock bag. That way I don't have to go searching in the bottom of the bag for what I need.

If you are looking for a sling-type bag, I have one of these Ful bags

I like it. Not too big, not too small. But if you are carrying water for more than one person, it won't be big enough.

I love my Nike cinch sak. I never feel it on, and it's so easy to just take one arm out to sit down on a ride.

I am not a backpack person. I use a smallish cross body bag for my essentials. Everything else goes under the stroller.

I was thinking about taking a backpack, I had a stroller last time we went but won't have that luxury this time

I used the Baggallini Messenger bag last time we went. It was a one strap and light weight plus lots of pockets and it came in lots of cute colors. It was easy to just slip it around to my side when I got on a ride. It worked great!

Lol so many choices. I am going to have to take a look and see what I like, that will work or not. Using my Lug bag lately, I find it may be too big and will get heavy on me so am leaning towards some sort of backpack or a cinch bag.

I use my Vera Bradley backpack. It's my all time favorite bag and I use it as my diaper bag all the time. I also take a 31 cinch sac and throw extra things in there and stuff in stroller.

We brought two regular backpacks. One had "just in case" items like extra clothes, meds, snacks etc. The other held the camera, autograph books, and water. They were usually left stashed under the stroller.

I just bought an Overland Donner bag after reading a lot of great reviews here. It has two nice side pockets to hold water bottles, too. I can't wait to try it.

I used a Baggallini twice with great results! I also had a little soft-sided cooler for drinks and food that I would leave with the stroller. The Baggallini was easy to carry on rides.

I have a one shoulder bag, works great. I think I am going to purchase a wheeled/ backpack college for May. We are not doing dining plan and will be making food in our room. This will be ideal for cold drinks and for food. I don't think it is something I would carry everyday

I probably should have mentioned no stroller (my son is 10) and Vera Bradley bags, as much as I would love one, I can't squeeze it into my budget. I think I may just stick to my Lug as a lot of other bags don't seem to have the space my cable satchel does. It's also great in case it rains as well. Thanks for all the ideas, I have a huge bag obsession so after looking at the ones suggested, I will be making some purchases in the future lol. I'll just have to hide them in the closet when I do!

I have an older style Overland Donner, and love it. Unfortunately, I misplaced it somewhere in the house, and our trip is in 3 weeks. If I don't find it soon, I'm going to have to order a new one.

I usually put a water bottle in one side pocket, sunglasses in the other side pocket, a park map in the back slide pocket, a ziploc with small necessities in the main compartment, wallet in the main compartment, and my DSLR in the main compartment. Yep, it will fit a DSLR, although there isn't any padding of course.
