Best Turkey Day Choice?

We'll be arriving around noon on Thanksgiving to CSR. I'd like to do a sit-down that afternoon, either late lunch or early dinner, but not necessarily a turkey dinner. We were considering WCC if they have their regular menu. Does anyone know our other choices? HDD is out of the question, too $$ for kids that might be exhausted on travel day. Probably not going into the parks would be a good idea. It'd be too late to use up a day and one of the kids has never been so he'd want to see everything! THanks for your help.

Happy Mother's Day! :flower:

Have you checked out the Thanksgiving 2004 list on www.allearsnet.com?

If you click on dining, then scroll down and look on the left, you will see the holidays listed.

WCC says Thanksgiving items served family style for a set price. WL is a really beautiful resort especially with all the Christmas decorations but it looks like no regular menu that day.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

We will be leaving the day after Thanksgiving but are staying at WL. I am planning on dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe either before or after Cirque.

Thanks Penny. Yes, I've practically memorized the menus and info from allears while trying to decide on the dining plan (or not). It doesn't really specify if WCC will have a regular menu so I was hoping someone had first-hand info. We don't really care about the traditional meal so we're also considering BW, but I think ESPN will be jammed with football gamers, don't you think? So we need to know our other options. Maybe we should do House of Blues at DTD? Does anyone know which restaurants would most likely be LESS crowded this day? Worse case scenario is still fantastic: pizza or fried chicken sitting beside the Big Dig :cool1:

Hi PatsGirl... I think you will find most of the restaurants to be pretty crowded on T-Day. We ate at Chef Mickey's last Thanksgiving. It was terrific. Since CM's is our traditional first meal in WDW, it worked out well, since we arrived that morning from Boston. We stayed out of the parks, which were chaotic to say the least. Our meal was good...I wanted a traditional turkey day meal and I got it...turkey and all the fixings. Dh doesn't care for turkey so he had beef and was very happy. dd has her mac and cheese as usual!! I even got to have my pumpkin pie which I usually don't get to have since I'm the only one who likes it. And we got to visit with Mickey and buddies which gets you in the Disney mood.

goofy4tink, thank you. I have been contemplating Chef Mickeys or Ohanas -- I'm assuming Ohanas is regular menu but does CM serve their regular buffet or is it more of the turkey stuff? I also wondered if these places would be exceptionally busy that day or if most people stay in the parks? When thinking about it, alot will depend on the weather. I see you are also from MA so you will appreciate that a sunny warm day at the pool with nachos and coronas might be as satisfying as a sit-down somewhere (and I know the kids don't care either way). What kind of beef did your husband have? I will have to go back to allears and check out the buffet items. Brenda

We ate Thanksgiving dinner in '04 at Wolfgang's in Downtown Disney. It was great: One diner had Traditional Thanksgiving, another had pumpkin ravioli, another had Wolf's meatloaf and I had sushi. All diners were very pleased

Hi We ate at the Yacht club galley T-day 2004. We had priority seating prearranged. My husband , 18mos old son and I loved it. They had a buffet with very tender & moist carved turkey, ham, huge salad bar, almost every side dish imaginable. The pumpkin Bisque was to die for! Lots of tiny pumpkin mouse pies, pecan pies, chocolate deserts. Six different kinds of breads, great gravy too. I'm so fuusy used to a large spread of great food for Thanksgiving, this was our first T-day away from family. I would definately go back to the Yacht Club Galley again, the food was that memorable. Good Luck :goodvibes
