Best trip ever with my 2 yr old & bf! Moved by disney from pop to deluxe!!!!

joining in! :goodvibes Conner is so adorable! and your upgrade to a deluxe is so intriguing! can't wait to read more!

Thank you! The upgrade was SO awesome...I'm only a couple of days away from that chapter of our trip!

Conner is super cute! Can't wait to read more!! popcorn::

Thank you!:goodvibes

Sorry about the problems with AirTran. Hopefully the stroller holds up throughout the trip. Sound like Conner is in for a ton of new things with his new found height. Can't wait to read more.

Thanks for joining!:goodvibes

Luckily, the damage done to my stroller was more so cosmetic than anything else. So we were still able to use it.

Conner was definitely able to ride more this trip than his previous trips, but boy oh boy, do I have a couple of stories about the height requirements/measurements.

What a brave boy you have! And he's only 2 1/2! I wasn't brave enough to even try & get my 3 year old son on those rides during our May trip. He cried on Barnstormer during his 1st trip last December. He needs to grow out of that because my DH & I are coaster enthusiasts. :lmao:

Sounds like y'all had a great 1st day! Can't wait to hear more.

Thanks for joining in!

Oh my goodness, Conner is SO SO brave! Especially because he is so young! One of our 100 rides on BTM there was a lady who asked how old Conner was, and she was astonished to hear he was only 2. She had a seven year old that wouldn't get on! I'm happy that Conner isn't afraid because both his dad and myself LOVE the thrill rides!

Lovin' this trip report!

Thanks for joining!:goodvibes

Upgrade from Pop to a deluxe?! SWEET DEAL! :thumbsup2

That's so awesome that Connor was able to do Splash & Big Thunder!

RIGHT?!?! I couldn't have asked for anything else...well maybe a night in Cinderella's castle:lmao: but good luck with that dream, right?

Okay you've got me hook, line and sinker... I need to know what the heck happened. Haha, mysteries always seem to suck me in... as do adorable kids who LOVE WDW! Can't wait to read the rest of your TR!

Also, love that Conner went on both Splash and BTMRR! That's impressive for a kid his age. I hope when we have kids ours are adventurous just like him. :)

Joining. He's so cute. My son will be your son's age when we go next summer. He'd have to grow almost an inch a month to make it to 40in tall by then, but it doesn't matter yet because my 51in tall daughter makes me promise no big kid rides before we go anywhere. :confused3

Hopefully she snaps out of it before he's tall enough because knowing him, he will want to do it all. He apparently already thinks he can fly because there isn't anything in the house he won't climb and attempt to jump off of from the top. :scared1:

Loving your TR so far, Connor is adorable. Can not wait to see what deluxe resort you end up at.

Really enjoying your trip report and looking forward to hearing what happened next popcorn:: I loved your lil' guy's reaction after his first ride on SM! So precious!!!! My husband and I are taking our lil' guy to the World in 2013 when he'll be 3 going on 4! Can't wait to hear what his reaction is for his first time on SM! He's 2 now and already 36.5 inches tall, so he'll definitely be ready to ride come 2013

I'm in! Your son is absolutely adorable and I can't believe an almost 3 year old can be tall enough to ride Splash! You can tell I have teenagers! :rotfl:

I am curious about your upgrade story. Did you end up at SSR? (my home DVC resort)

And what did air tran do about the damaged baby jogger? Please tell me that they compensated you. I had a jogger when my kids were little and I would have sick if I had spent $250 and had it damaged. That just stinks! :headache:

Great trip report so far! Connor looks like he had so much fun! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear about the upgrading mystery. It really sucks when something happens at the beginning of your trip. That's no way to start a disney vacation

lol Thanks! The 'BIG MOVE' happened about half way through our trip, so I'm almost there. Hang Tight:thumbsup2

My Conner is the same way...he thinks he is invinsible. Which at times can be great, but other times it's terrifying!! I hope your daughter loses her fear of the big kid rides, they are so fun!

Thanks! Oh, your family will have so much fun! Disney with kids that age is awesome. They grow such a personality at that time...and such an opinion! Which at times can be a little overwhelming, but still so cool!

I have a REALLY BIG two year old. Like off the charts percentile wise. I'm almost to the 'BIG MOVE' chapter of our trip, I don't want to give away any secrets just yet:thumbsup2

Airtran gave me three options
1) I could leave the stroller with them RIGHT THEN AND THERE (which means no nice stroller for the whole vacation). They were going to give me a $15 loaner umbrella stroller and I just about laughed in their face. And then they would mail me a check for the cost of the stroller.
2) I could walk away with my stroller and a $75 settlement check...again not good enough
3) I could take my stroller with me, and follow up on the claim when I got home. But if they were able to recognize any additional damage done to the stroller, they wouldn't do anything.

We decided to take the stroller with us, because I seriously wasnt using a cheapo stroller the whole week, but I wasn't going to accept a $75 settlement on a $250 stroller.

JR had them fax the receipt with the paperwork specifying the damage to their head office, and they ended up mailing us a check. The crappy part is, I traded in my old (ALSO REALLY NICE) umbrella stroller for 35% off my new stroller, and they only sent me a check for $187 (the amount i originally paid, minus the 35%). Problem is, I dont have another used stroller to trade in sitting at home, so I still missed out on $67.

:goodvibes

You hooked me!!!! :)

lol glad you like it!

We ALL had so much fun, best trip in years by far! I'm almost to the mystery!!! Hang tight:thumbsup2

I'm joining up, can't wait to hear about the move :)

Thanks for joining:goodvibes

Ok i'm hooked as well. Next to my 4 kids yours has to be the next best looking.;) So the suspense is killing me. Whats next.

GREAT TR!!! Love your sons reaction to the rides!! You got a rollercoaster rider! Keep this up - loving it!:flower3:

Day 2 "We're finally going to see a dragon!!"

I set the alarm on my phone for 6:50 that morning because The Magic Kingdom had EMH from 8-9. I woke up on time, showered and got ready, and begged and pleaded for JR and Conner to get their sleepy butts out of bed. I was finally able to awaken my princes, and we had a quick breakfast at Pop before hopping on the bus for MK.

We got to MK about 25 minutes after it had opened, so not quite at rope drop, but still early enough to enjoy some of the EMH. I didn't really have a plan set in place for which rides I wanted to do, so I checked an app on my phone called disney world by undercover tourist. I would HIGHLY recommend this app if you have a smart phone. You can go into the individual park and view a list of the rides in that park. Each ride has a wait time right on the main screen and the distance you are from that ride. I also had downloaded the Disney application, but it wasn't nearly as useful as undercover tourist. Immediately, I saw that the wait for Peter Pan was only 10 minutes. 10 MINUTES?! Now that is just awesome. Peter Pan is always one of those rides that needs a fastpass. Not for us though:thumbsup2

Conner did ok on Peter Pan. He wasn't trying to hide, but I could tell he was a little unsure because of the dark. After Peter Pan, we decided to take advantage of the short lines at Snow whites Scary Adventure, It's a Small World, and Mickey's Phillharmagic. Conner had the same reaction for Snow White that he had for Peter Pan, which I thought was pretty good because Snow White is scary. He seemed to enjoy It's a Small World, but I'm starting to think my little big boy is too much of a thrill seeker for these slow rides.

Other people were taking pictures with their flash, so I did too

You would never be able to guess which room is my favorite lol

Oh! And I forgot to tell you how much Conner loved Phillharmagic! He wore the 3D glasses the entire time, and it was SO super cute when he tried to grab things! JR and I both really enjoy this show, so it's nice that Conner is old enough to enjoy it with us too (finally!).

After Fasntasyland, we scurried over to Frontierland so Conner could ride his Choo Choo again...and again....and again. So we were up to at least 6 times on day two. He just couldn't get enough!

After the choo choo, we made our way to Pecos Bills for lunch. And this is the point in our trip when JR fell in love with their french fries and cheese. I think he got it more than five times on this trip. After Pecos Bills, we somehow landed ourselves at the tea cups. Conner had a BLAST! And I think I got some of my favorite pictures of the trip on this ride.

If I remember correctly, they are building two restaurants in the areas I took pictures of. One, I believe, is The Little Mermaid, and the other is Beauty and the Beast (obviously, given the picture). While I am exicted for new things at the MK, I am SO ready for construction to be over. This is the first trip I have been on when Mickeys Toon town fair has been closed, and I wasn't a fan. There is also a lot of construction near POTC in adventureland. OH! And of course there was that darn crane next to my beautiful castle. Luckily, we were there during the 40th anniversary (which they took the crane down for).

Ok, I'm done, back to our day!

I REALLY wanted to ride Space Mountain before we left for nap time, so we ran over and guess what!??! I used a fast pass that JR saved from last year. Shh, don't tell on me.:thumbsup2 Jr rode after me, and we both had a blast of course. (no pun intended)

While Conner and I were waiting for JR, Conner made his first Disney purchase...with his own money might I add. Since January, Conner has been collecting spare change from the house, JR's pockets, and my purse. He also got some change from my grandparents here and there, all to go in his piggy bank for Disney. All in all, he saved up $124 for his own spending money. I thought this idea was fantastic, and it turned out to be great for JR and I because Conner was able to get the knick knacks he wanted, without it coming from our spending money. I had budgeted us for about $900 for food and trinkets for the week, so it was great that Conner had his own savings too. Anyway, he bought a $6 bouquet of lollipops.

After Space Mountain, we rode Buzz Lightyear (no line), and headed to the front of the park. Conner was OUT.

We all went back to our room at Pop for a quick nap. Conner slept the whole way on the bus, and of course thought it was time to wake up when we got to the room. Luckily, I was able to get him back asleep like 20 minutes later. We slept until about 4:30, and woke up to get ready for...................

The night of the dragon of course! Can anyone guess the dragon I am talking about?

Stay tuned!!!

Hey, maybe if you asked enough people! They'd be like, "SOMEONE! GET THIS GIRL IN THE CASTLE PUHHHHLEASE!!!" ;):rotfl:

Oh god, don't tempt me lol Or if I can get myself on one of the wedding shows, I keep seeing all of these people getting a one night stay in the castle. Now, someone just needs to tell JR to get the ball rolling! lol

Ok i'm hooked as well. Next to my 4 kids yours has to be the next best looking.;) So the suspense is killing me. Whats next.

lol thank you! I'm glad you are enjoying it:goodvibes

GREAT TR!!! Love your sons reaction to the rides!! You got a rollercoaster rider! Keep this up - loving it!:flower3:

Thanks so much! It's so cool that people like my TR, I never expected this kind of outcome.

Wow you really got some great pictures of your family on the tea cups! :lovestruc It is a great idea for Conner to have some money of his own to spend and that way he can learn the value of saving :thumbsup2

I love the pictures you got on the teacups. Have subscribed to your trip report :thumbsup2

I too am dying to find out about your upgrade to Deluxe. Seeing the construction pics is getting me super excited. We have to trips booked for late next year and I cant wait to see the new additions.
