So we would be traveling from POP to Contemporary for Chef Mickey's at 5pm then heading over to MK. We usually drive but we have not ever been during a very busy week. Should we still drive to TTC and then monorail around or take the bus to MK and walk or monorail to Contemp? This is on Dec 21st.

I would start with the end in mind. And it depends on your party's composition.

On the bus side....
I am strongly biased to driving all over WDW, but taking the bus between resort and the MK is one of the best time savers at Disney. You exit the park and you're still 15-30 minutes away from your car.

On the TTC side
The crowd likely won't be shuffling sardine status until later in the week. The ferry swallows 1,000 people at a time and makes for a relaxing ride. If you are not leaving in a crowd (post fireworks or parade) and as long as there are no meltdown candidates in your party it would be fine.

I am also pro-driving especially when there is a resort to resort trip involved (although yours is one of the easiest since it so close to MK).

Have you considered driving and parking at the Contemporary? You will be allowed to drive your car in since you have dining reservations.

But if you want to stay past your ADR and travel to the MK you can only do that if you pay to Valet Park at the Contemporary. Resort parking lots are not designed for and are not big enough for theme park parking. There are posted signs to this effect. There are reports too, of periodic towing of cars from the CR lot. It is totally unfair to guests paying that nightly rate to return to the CR and be unable to park their car because of folks who have parked there and walked to the MK.
Personally I would take a bus to the MK from your resort and walk back and forth for your dinner and then take the bus back to your resort when you are done for the day/evening

Thanks everyone! Yes we will be staying at MK until at least 1am after dinner is over so I did not think parking at the Contemporary would be possible.

You could pay valet parking - I think it's a little more expensive ($5?) then TTC but that might be worth the price of convenience.

I would drive to TTC and go from there. It will save you a ton of time IMHO. Have a great time! :cool1:
