Best Transportation Options for Getting Around Disney?

That is if you’re with a Disney resort. Most Non-Disney resort hotel guests pay up in that instance.
Yes that is correct but based on what was provided by the OP I’m assuming they are onsite with mentioning the various options and then mentioning outside of Disney.

parks. Others feel more comfortable renting a car for extra flexibility, especially if they want to head outside Disney for shopping or dining.

You also forgot that you have minimum $45 in parking that you can avoid just by not renting a car and using Disney Transport.
Being local I never stayed at the Disney resorts but as I don’t pay the parking fee, is $45 really the current daily parking fee?

Only if preferred. Standard is a bargain at $30 lol.

AP and resort guests still can park for free or upgrade to the preferred section

I’ve taken 3 trips this year with another coming up for the Food and Wine half marathon in October . I’ve rented a car each of these trips and am planning on renting one again. However, I try not to use it when I get my DVC property and rely on Disney’s transportation. While I don’t mind driving I certainly enjoy someone else driving more. We do the rental car because we need it on Sundays when we go to church. We’ve relied on Lyft before but it’s not ideal all the time. One year we kept getting canceled on by our drivers and we waited over an hour to get picked up. That year we tried a different church. Normally we stick with Corpus Christi. That time waiting around was annoying. That’s prime park time. Couple that with a round trip Lyft XL to MCO then it doesn’t always look to bad price wise if we’re only there a few nights or so. When we did the Springtime Surprise in April we drove to the expo to get our bibs, and then back the next day to exchange some shoes we bought. Then we went straight to AK. I’m not sure how long that would’ve taken us if we had to solely reply on the buses. But I do draw the limit of how long I want a car for. We did an 8 night trip in July and I did get a car again but I only used it for 1 night and returned it to the car rental office that’s behind the Polynesian. My wife and son were down there for a volleyball tournament so I picked them up from their hotel and we all drove to VGF together and hit up a Publix along the way.
