I have been "blessed" with wide feet, made only wider after two pregnancies. Wondering if anyone else with my blessing can recommend their favorite shoe or sandal to wear at the parks available in W. Thanks for any suggestions :goodvibes

I always wear my sneakers when touring the theme parks. With years of numerous sporting endeavors, I also have a wide foot. Remember that you will be on your feet for ten plus hours so a comfortable shoe is important. You could also throw flip flops in your bag to change to while at the park.
Have a great trip!

My husband has size 15 EEEE feet...yes, small boats...the New Balance sneakers are great. We bring an extra pair for water rides and some Teva sandals for pool days.

Well. . .this sounds awful, but tell us more about the shape of your wide foot. I have a typical native foot - extra wide, high arches, with that distinctive bump on top. I like Nike and Tom's, but Tom's better than Nike - last year, I alternated between two pairs of Toms and for the first time didn't get a single blister while at Disney!

I always bring 2 pairs of tennis shoes....my reebok princess style and champions from payless both Wides. The reebok's are leather and the champions are mostly mesh- the style of those change every few months so I get whichever ones feel comfy and give my toes room. When at the parks, I switch off between the two. I can't wear flip flops for more than a few hours at a time, hence the tennis shoes. I always go with fairly new shoes although people say to bring ones that are really broken in. The one time I did that at DL I ended up with blisters on the balls of my feet. So, I always take fairly new shoes.

Here's to finding some comfy shoes for your trip! :)

Have very high arches and wide feet and couple of years ago broke my foot and the foot doctor put me in New Balance -mens to get them wide enough--- and had me go down two sizes to fit and get a 3 E wide. gives me plenty of toe box room and have not had a blister or sore feet since. the womens just were not wide enough for me. at nite will wear Crocls around the resort.:worship:

I was a gym shoe person for many years. On my honeymoon I put on the flip flops I wore for my wedding reception and never looked back. I never had more comfy feet and less pain than that trip.

I have very short and very wide feet. I always get blisters the first time I wear any closed toe shoe and it's my pinky toe that suffers the most. Once I break the shoes in they are fine. But walking on them for a few days at Disney always takes its toll on them.

I always thought flip flops would be a pain to walk in, but they really weren't. We aren't rope drop racers so I didn't have to try to run in them.

I know most people would tell you the opposite of this but my flip flops were really the best I've ever worn. They were inexpensive but not cheap and had a lot of support. The ones I wore are pretty worn out by now so I'm ordering two pairs for my next trip (one in each color).

I wear Saucony tennis shoes, in extra wide. I get the tennis shoes that are more of a mesh than a hard leather, so they give a bit. I find them more comfortable.

As for sandals, I love the Teva Terra Fi sandals. They fit my wide feet, and are very comfortable, offering support in the arch and the ankles.

I wear them when walking around the parks all day, and they are incredible.

I wouldn't go for the regular Teva sandals though, they don't offer as much support.

Here is a link to the sandals I recommend: http://http://www.zappos.com/teva-terra-fi-3-feathers-blue-depths

Good luck finding your perfect shoes!

I wear either my sneakers in colder weather or Teva's in warmer.

Thanks so far, I have almost no arch, and large feet as well (woman size ten). I have a pair a gym shoes I am bringing, but was hoping to get a pair of more breathable and quick dry walking shoes or sport sandals too; something I cab go sockless in.

Tyzzle~ you sound just like me..Go with Teva's for sport sandals.

Whatever you'd wear for a long day of walking in the heat at home is what you should bring to WDW....times two (rain=soggy shoes) plus something to wear to the pool.

I bring wide New Balance sneaks, Scutes (Crocs slides), and watershoes for water park.

as someone who simply cannot wear sneakers in hot weather, I have found that Clarks makes some really great, supportive, and even CUTE, flip flops that are comfy for wide feet. Granted I don't have HUGELY wide feet...but just wide enough that some sandals or shoes can get uncomfortable after an extended period of time.

I also wear Teva Mush flip flops. They are very squishy and kind to wide footed folks as well. :thumbsup2

For non-gym shoes I find Clark's sandals in wide width and Crocs Duet style comfy. I recently picked up a pair of Crocs Capri flip flops from recommendations here, but I'm not sure about walking around all day in them (at least for me).

I wear my Chaco's every single day of my trip. They come in regular and wide widths. The regulars are wider than most other sandals.

I thought I would never know comfort below the ankles... until I met Crocs!!! :thumbsup2 I recommend you check out crocs.com to see all the styles available. Read the reviews to check out which styles really fit wide feet (Scutes and Skylar work great for my super-wides, plus the duets and clogs, and I even wear the Patricia and Cleos at work).

Some of the women's styles aren't made for me, and are specifically for more "normal" feet. But they have quite a few flip-flops that lots of ladies love, I just can't deal with the toe-thong thing. :confused3

If you have a store nearby that carries them, it's great to be able to try on without ordering them blind. Around here I have found them at Shoe Carnival and Dick's Sporting Goods. And don't even bother with the cheap knock-offs. :sad2:

Good luck with the hunt! :goodvibes

My favorite sandal last year is the Teva Tirra. I have wide feet and it fit me great. I'll be wearing them again this year.

It's also very adjustable so when my feet swelled up, I was able to adjust the fit so the straps didn't dig into my feet.

I know a bit about this, as I wear a women's 6 1/2EEEE. Seriously not fun. As a kid, I had to have custom made shoes. As an adult, I have my cowboy boots custom made and the remainder of my shoes are Crocs and Propet. I can't wear most styles of Crocs, as even they are too narrow. The standard beach works, as does the Scoot. In addition, I have found that the only flip flop that I have ever found wide enough is also by Crocs. The only flip flop that works is the Crocband Flip ordered in a size larger than I usually wear. I am always excited to order the new color every spring! For the record, Crocs is having a sale from now to 3/23.

For "Fancier" sandals and shoes, I order Propet shoes. They are well made, reasonably stylish and have a 1,000 mile walking guarantee (for what it's worth).

I swear by TOMS. I wear them without any issues and for a sandal feeling I buy the lace ones.

For sandals, I loved wearing Fit flops! Super cushiony and felt like walking on air. I switched off to New Balance sneakers every other day. My sketchers are also comfortable.
