We will be visiting late April and have access to a family timeshare off property for the week. We are planning to cap the start and end of the trip with a night in 2 different Disney resorts so we can enjoy the resorts. We may not do any parks at all this trip since i'll be in my 2nd trimester and my son will be a few weeks shy of 2 years old. We mostly just want to get away to some warm weather on our last trip as a family of 3! What resorts have you enjoyed with your toddler? We are thinking Art of Animation for sure and then maybe Coronado? Not too concerned about location/transportation since we may not do parks but more interested in pools/playgrounds/kid friendly dining. Thanks!

For pools..

BC/YC - Stormalong Bay is great for kids
Poly - nice splash area at pool (if it's open)
GF - another nice splash area (if it's open)
Kidani - Yep, cool splash area (if it's open)

Don't know if playgrounds are open (they are closed where I live).

Food is decent (though limited) at all of the above. Poly and GF give you monorail access to Contemporary for additional food options. BC/YC give you access to the boardwalk area (food, nice walk). Kidani is pretty isolated, especially with Jambo being closed.

Was going to say Kidani as well for the splash pad.

If you are able, Wilderness Lodge is cool - small splash pad, 2 pools and just a really nice vibe. I don't think the regular part of hotel is open though - just DVC.

Also agree with Beach Club for the pool and also the Boardwalk environment to walk around and get a snack, etc.

I don’t know about Coronado with a toddler. None of the pools offer zero entry, current dining is a little better suited towards adults, the main pool is a bit of a walk from most rooms. The playground is currently closed due to COVID (TBD if that changes by April). There is no themed kids splash pad, only a smallish traditional baby pool.

I like CSR a lot, but I think Disney has better resort options when thinking about a resort-focused trip with a toddler. For us, that meant resorts with a ‘real’ splash pad area such as AKL, GF, Poly (kinda big for an almost 2 year old though), WL, Riv, CBR, FW... probably others I am forgetting.

We had a lovely Ft. Wilderness trip when I was 21 weeks pregnant and my son was 2.5. He also really enjoyed All-Star Movies and Pop Century (and walking around AoA...my kids have never stayed at AoA but we did when I was in my 1st trimester with my oldest). Some of the moderates have fun spray-grounds for little kids, but I remember Coronado Springs having just a basic kiddie pool. We stayed there when my son was 20 months old and he was very unimpressed. My husband and I enjoyed it, but I would not recommend Coronado Springs with a toddler. Plus, the only Disney transportation there is the bus, as opposed to boat or Skyliner. My oldest loves just riding the monorail or Skyliner just for fun. And my youngest loves seeing the ponies at Ft. Wilderness (though the disadvantage of Ft. Wilderness is you are cooking your own meals or traveling to either Disney Springs or a monorail resort to eat, as there is only the 1 restaurant open there right now). AoA had a nice variety of food. All-Star resorts' menus were a little boring for my tastes.
