Best tips for getting connecting rooms?

My extended family will be going Easter 2006- 13 people/4 families. We'll need 5 rooms. Looks like the All Stars fits the budget for all. Any magical tips on how I can go about getting connecting rooms or at least rooms that are in close proximity to one another. We all have children under 12, hence we all have to stick close to our rooms, but it is a family reunion and no one wants to be left out of the down time visiting. I know many have done this successfully. Would love to hear how? Does one person make the ressie? (and the deposit?) or are there other ways? Any tips would be great!

Just make sure it is the top request on your reservations. If young children are to be sleeping in the connecting room (to their parents), I think mentioning that will also help make it a priority.

Either make all the ressies at the same time and note that itis a reunion. or If each individual family needs to book there own room make sure to have the other reservations linked together..That way when they go to assign your rooms you have a better chance of being together..

It gives me something to go on. PS to Zurgswife: Glad to see the JDRF link! Our 11 year was diagnosed 3 years ago. Great idea for the link on these boards.

We've requested 2 connecting rooms at ASMo on two separate occasions and always got them. Even if the rooms are booked separately, you just call back and ask to have them tied together and tell them you want connecting or adjoining rooms.

You want to ask for connecting rooms, not adjoining rooms.

Connecting rooms will have the door between the two rooms.

Adjoining rooms means that the two rooms will be located next to each other.

We did this in December with 3 rooms. I made the reservation under my name and put the deposit down. I thought it was easier to just keep it all together. When we checked in, all the rooms were next to each other, 2 of them connecting with the door between. Have a great time!

With that many people (if 8 or more are age 3 or over), they will assign you a Magical Gathering number, which means that they will do their best to keep you all together.

We're staying at POR in June and have requested connecting rooms. Our confirmation came and it states "guaranteed connecting rooms for families". I don't if they do it for 4 rooms though.
