Hey Guys,

I'm not sure what the weather is at WDW right now, but let me suggest something that I am SO GLAD that I did before I left!

I went to Walmart, and in their hunting/fishing section, they have little handwarmers. They are those packets that you open and shake up, then they put out heat for like 10 hours or something. Well, they are only like $1 or something for 6 packets! These are great to stuff in your coat pockets and use at night at the parks!

Trust me! Worth the $1.

That is a wonderful tip and I thank you for sharing it with us! I saw some of those at Wal-mart as I was checking out a couple of days ago and I even picked them up for a closer look. I thought to myself "what a marvelous invention for someone who needed something like that!!!" Thanks to you I now know someone who needs something like that. My son and I!! We will be at Disney January 17-24 and I will definetely be picking some of those up.

Thanks again,
Carla

This is a great tip! I just got my ponchos from there too, guess I'll make a trip back for handwarmers! Thanks a bunch!

While you are there pick up some of those cheap little stretch gloves - I think they are two for $1.50. They fit great in pockets and it's not a problem if you lose one.

There's another thread about doing nice things for others at WDW or what others have done for you (I can't find it right now or I would have posted a link). How about buying some extra gloves and handwarmers and sharing while at WDW. You know that you will see people who are not prepared.

I'm going Jan 28-Feb 5 as a make up trip for the one that got ruined by my emergency appendectomy on the first day in Orlando during my Christmas trip and I think I will take extras to share.

That is definately a wonderful idea I now plan to do! It will be a nice way to continue the Christmas spirit! Thank you!

Thinking of getting those warmers! Hoping that guarentees us a warm trip!

Arminnie - I would love to hear that trip report!!!
Well, now you will be there the same days as we are (1/31-2/5), so there will be a lot of friendly people around! ::yes::

That is so funny that you said that because I posted that is what I had done nice for someone on that thread! There was the cutest little old British woman standing next to me, and I could tell she was cold, so I offered her my handwarmers since I had extra ones in my bag. She was so sweet about it.

How funny indeed - I did not have time to read all of the posts on that thread or I would have seen yours and given you credit.

I lived in the Dallas area for many years (about 12 years in total at two different times) and have many relatives from the Irving area - that must be why we think alike.

My trip report is VERY short. Arrive, have dinner at Boma, go back to POR, wake up with pains in side, go to dr, go to ER, have surgery at 10 pm, spend rest of trip in hotel room waiting to be well enough to fly home.

I bought mine and promptly placed them in our luggage!!! I also bought several pairs of gloves. We're all set!!

These things work really well!! I used one of them from a friend when we went on a band trip to a football game (it was in the lower 40's, I think) and they really do help you keep warm. The ones my friend had said the warmers shouldn't touch your skin, but it's fine if you do! ;)

It can't get cold enough for gloves and handwarmers, can it?
I'm in New England, and don't put on gloves till it's in the low 30's with wind!
That cold?

Gretchen,

We went to Fantasmic a few years ago on New Years Day. It was very cold! Sitting on those metal benches, outside for a few hours gets to be cold. Then when the show starts and the water sprays, and you get wet from the mist....well, just trust me, it doesn't get that cold often, but I'd rather be prepared.

I live in northern FL. I had the a/c on one day and then the heater the next. Its been 28 degrees at night.

OK guys, it just got above ZERO here for the first time in a week! When we fly down on 1/25 we will have our winter coats and gloves because there's no way we're going to the airport without them. Last January we were in FL (15th -26th) and YES it was cold. Never got above 50 most days, and went below freezing several nights. Although we were OK with long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts during the daytime, the evenings were chilly, especially at Fantasmic and Illuminations. You just can't tell at this time of year. We were the envy of all in EPCOT with our winter coats on!
