When would you say is the best time to go? We've never been to DL before and I don't know anything about the parks, crowds, weather, etc.

We can go between June of 2012 and June of 2013. We can't go in the fall because we're going to WDW for 3 weeks.

I'm thinking May of 2013. The first or second week. :confused3

HELP!

In general that is a time I would prefer, but that far out I can think of some possible reasons to avoid it. If POTC 5 gets filmed, they could do another premier in DL during May. Also in 2013 Spring break will be moved forward making that a long period to do rehabs in preperation for Summer.

At DLR there is a trade off of crowds vs short hours, rehabs and limited entertainment. In the off season Fireworks and Fantasmic are limited to weekends Friday through Saturday. So you want to include a couple of those days. All weekends are busy.

The week before Thanksgiving week is great for crowds and decorations. The couple weeks after Thanksgiving are similiar.

Halloween is a great time to visit in October.

In the middle of Summer, mid July to Mid August during the week crowds are large but workable. Everything operates at 100%.

Best weather? Warmest? Coolest? Low crowds? Maximum entertainment? Most rides in operation? Take your pick...:cool2:

I love your info! I was just wondering if we would go the week before Thanksgiving is there generally major refurb.s then?:confused3 Also is it warm enough to go to the beach? We have never been to CA/DL before!

There should be minimal, if any, refurbs. Halloween and Christmas has been morphing into one large holiday season, and DLR tries to keep the scheduled refurbs to a minimum then.

But I'd recommend the week after Thanksgiving; the last week of November. Two reasons. The primary one is that Thanksgiving week tends to be very crowded, but those crowds really die down after the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Another reason is that, while all the Christmas decorations will be up in the parks by mid-November, the hotels won't be fully decorated yet. But the hotels will be decorated by Thanksgiving, and the holiday season will really be in full swing.

As far as beach weather, November will be extremely variable. We've been in December when DGD was splashing in the pool, and weather was warm. We've also been in mid-November when we had to bundle up in sweatshirts and/or coats, even during the day.

thanks for your input. I actuall meant the entire week that is the week before T'giving...not the week of T'giving, I know WDW is packed that week :goodvibes But if it is more holiday-ish the week after T'giving and airfare costs the same maybe we'll go then :cool1: Also in regards to the weather I guess we should try and find a place that has an indoor pool in case it;s too cool???

Decoration wise it's the same the weeks before and after Thankgiving week.

Don't limit yourself looking at the few places with indoor pools, it's CA not PA.
