Best Times of the Year to Go

Hello everyone,

I'm specifically talking about May. I'm asking because I'm sitting here watching a Disney World Trip and Travel hacks Vlog on YouTube, and they are talking about, among other things, best time to go. The times of the year they mentioned are; January, February, September, October, November and Early December. I can understand all these times, but I would think that late April/early May to mid-May would have been mentioned. My thought process on this is that most western schools (if memory serves) get out sometime in mid/late May, along with Colleges, so parents wouldn't pull their kids out right before the end of school to go (at least I wouldn't think they would). Schools in the northeast get out in mid-June (my DD just having finished Kindergarten this week), so I would think that May would be a good time to go. For those who have been in May, do you agree, disagree? Just wondering. I'm planing a trip for the family, and my DW and I talked and we both agree that if my DD is doing well in school we'd pull her out for a week to head down. So with this in mind, I'm thinking of different times of the year to go. Thanks.

Most years I go to WDW between mid April and end of May. It’s a great time to go. Weather is sunny but not at full humidity and the crowds are light to moderate. I just avoid Easter and Memorial Day.

It depends on how you define "best". Best for weather? Best for crowds? Best for not pulling kids out of school? If you're ok with pulling your daughter out of school, I would say that May is a good time for both weather and crowds. Summer crowds have been trending lower over the last couple years, but the weather will be insanely hot. We like November for weather and holiday events, but the crowds can be higher depending on dates.

I was thinking more for crowds and totally forgot about the weather. I know summer can and does get insanely hot, so May does seem nice. I've heard that summer crowds have been trending down. I had heard that one reason for this was because Disney offered free dinning one year during the fall. As a result people quickly found out how nice it is to travel to Disney World during that time. I could be wrong, but that sounds right to me. Either way, in a couple of years when I head down summer might be a great time to go crowd wise. I know, wishful thinking.
