Best time to wear matching T shirts

I was born & raised in Hawaii. Yes, sometimes families get a second look but it's not because the entire family is wearing similar clothing, it's usually because their selection of clothing (very loud prints that were cool in 1974 rather than 2004). Sometimes people have a distorted view of the real Hawaii because they watch too many old reruns of Hawaii 5-O and Magnum P.I. Perhaps it's like a tourist in Texas wearing a ten gallon hat, chaps, and boots with spurs because that's what he thinks the locals wear on a daily basis.

A very popular store in Hawaii is Cinnamon Girl. Cinnamon girl specializes in pretty floral dresses and they have THE cutest mother-daughter dresses in matching prints.

Coordinating clothing (including matching t-shirts) can be both fun and stylish.

HELLO you are posing for pictures with a giant stuffed MOUSE! GO FOR IT!

ROFLMAO!!! :earboy2: Thanks for making me laugh this afternoon. :rotfl2:

Yes, it is corny and dorky...but that's what makes it FUN!!

I agree!!! DH will probably refuse to wear mathing Tees for embarkation, but I'll convince him to wear it for the family game shows! We want to have fun and not worry about being fashion conscious! I love these differing opinions! No flames from me!

My husband was not interested in matching shirts, so the kids wore them. But I agree it is all part of the fun. And as jennat said, "HELLO you are posing for pictures with a giant stuffed MOUSE!" Well said!

I forgot to add....we're planning to wear our personalized t-shirts for embarkation. Our only problem is that DH's cousin & her family decided to join us on our cruise and we don't have tshirts for them. I think it would be cool photo op to have all 12 of us wearing our personalized shirts.

DH wants to get a shirt that says "I'm with Grumpy" that points to me. I'll have to check out the shops the next time we're at DL/DCA.

I am the kind of person who wears a huge hat that looks like Stitch is eating my head whenever we visit WDW, and I force poor hubby to wear a hat that looks like a monorail is driving through his head.

:rotfl2:

You guys sound like you really know how to have a fun time!!

We always buy matching shirts to wear the day of embarkation. It really makes a great photo.

2:15pm, Thursday.

goblue—please—these are serious issues that should not be taken lightly. If you had bothered to really consider the ramifications of your proposition, upon reflection of all the elements presented, your suggestion clearly should have been for 2:25, Thursday.

I think in the best interest of improving the cruise experience for everybody, one should try to stay focused on making these discussions as fruitful as possible.

Yes, how dare someone make jokes about when my family should wear our matching Tees! I'm going to lose sleep tonight worrying about this!

Jennat gets its, and many others, too. It is a cruise. A vacation from reality. DS dressing just like daddy. Daddy dressing in a manner that clearly demonstrates that Toto, we aren't in a law office anymore...

We wore matching T's for disembarkation breakfast in '03, matching hawaiian shirts newly bought from Hilo Hatties for the now defunct Tropicalifrgilisticexpialidocious night on that same cruise, and matching T's for embarkation and the matching hawaiian shirts another night last month. And we will do it again. And again. Why? Because we can. Its a disney cruise ship. Heck, I'd even do it on RCCL next year except we're leaving DS home for that one.

No one argues that in the real world, the above posted observations about dorkiness have their place. This isn't really intended to be a flame--the original protest against matching shirts came from someone in Canada and there is enough suffering there this winter without NHL hockey, no need to send further abuse north of the border. Oh, so that means the Stanley Cup spends an extra year in FLORIDA along with the Disney ships. Man, that is rough. Never mind the world series game here in Atlanta in the 90's when we flew the Canadian flag upside down and I was at the game, pointed it out, and Bubba next to me said "how can ya tell?".

Okay, now that the dorks among us have defended how much fun we have dressing goofy, and I took some pot shots at a canadian citizen who in all honesty is correct about the dorky factor, I want to add this question--

You mean 70's night is okay, but a hawaiian shirt or matching T isnt? Having grown up in the 70's, I still have nightmares about that decade.

Whatever we all wear, matching, not matching, whatever, everyone enjoy.

I thought about the t-shirt thing but I know my DH is NOT into the matching thing. Poor guy, he's the only male in the family. So, I might get my DD a t-shirt and just coordinate our outfits to go with. Not too matchy-matchy, just coordinated. He'll be okay with that although I wish he'd do more. :earsboy:

I'll take it a step further....where do I go to buy matching hawaiian shirts or t-shirts. I'm spending money to be a dork  I love that banana!!
