I'm suppose to be going to DL in june but I have no idea when it would be the best time to go.

Least crowded?

Best good neighbor hotel to stay at?

Please help!!

Um ~ July/August :goodvibes ~ with WOC & AP visitors it'll be crowded. If it has to be June I'd say the very 1st week.

Where to stay ~ well the Good Neighbor hotels we've stayed at and would stay at again are HoJo, Anaheim Plaza & Desert Inn and Suites - we got this place twice last year through www.priceline.com for less than $50 per night - it's lovely but not within walking distance.

I really want to avoid june but it is probably going to be the only time I will be able to go.

I was thinking june 28-30.

We went last year at the end of June and are going this year at the end of June as well. If you can't avoid it, I would say--make sure you get there early! We had very light crowds in the mornings, but by noon it was very crowded.

Since we'll be going June 18-20 my heart sinks every time threads like these show up. Hopefully if we get there early and follow all the tips and strategies discussed here on the boards we can have an okay time. Still, with all of the talk about crowds and the impact of WOC it's hard not to be a bit apprehensive about our trip.

Hey... it won't be that bad! Crowds make the park more fun! All the rides should be fully staffed, which is better than slow lines in half staffed rides! Besides, a bad day at Disneyland is still better than a good day anywhere else! :thumbsup2

Putting it that way does make me feel better, so thank you! :)

I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll have a good time despite any crowds. Fortunately we'll be prepared with all the tips we've picked up on the boards.

Maybe you did not follow that closely but June 18-19 should not be that bad. June 20 will be though. That will be the best day to start early and see more shows like Aladdin or fireworks or maybe even WOC if you can score FPs. Because the lines for rides will be looooooong. :)

this was a lot of help. I'm just glad I get to go.

We are going for 3 days so it shouldn't be to bad.

I'm with you! We will be there 17-22!!! We have APs and aren't concerned with us, but we are going with my SILs family that have never been (kids ages 7-13) and other SIL with 2 little ones. There are 20 of us total with all my in laws!!

Hey, we'll also be there the 17th-22nd! I also get worried every time I read about how bad the crowds will be so I'm just hoping I read up and research enough to be well prepared!

Don't be discouraged about crowds! If you don't have a lot of options, you just go with the knowledge and have fun anyway! We're going for the first time June 29 - July 1 as part of our weeklong CA trip. I have been INSISTANT that we do July 1 as our last day and not June 30. DH thinks the kids are going to pop if we don't do DLR immediately b/c we're staying at the GCH (we're also spending time in LA during our stay). I told him the kids will get over it! :rotfl: You just do what you gotta do! We're also going to be following the Ridemax schedule, however that pans out.

I'm with you guys. My kids don't even get out of school till the 11th and then the following week we can't go because my mom and I both work at our family business and our office manager will be off that whole week as her son is getting married. SOOOO the first week we could go was the week of the 21st. We planned this trip MONTHS ago not even thinking about WOC and now I am nervous between that and grad nights that it is going to suck. The good news is we were able to score a discount on a GC room so we will have early entry a few days so we are just going to have to try and get as much touring done as early as possible and store up as many fp's as we can. I think the idea of even going on a midday break and coming back isn't going to work cuz I have been at these super crowded times and it seems the park NEVER gets less crowded at night. It stays jam packed all night long. It SHALL be interesting but as someone said even your WORST day at Disney is better than any other day somewhere else soooo we will take it :)
