Best time to go and other questions

Hi! I have never been to WDW before and my Dh went when he was younger. We will be bringing our then 1 1/2 or 2 yr old and was wondering what would be the best time of year to go. I think we only plan on visiting MK & AK for a few days each. I was also wondering if there is anything else our child may enjoy in Orlando or close by? I know at that age they are very much into any visually stimulating. What hotels in WDW or surrounding areas are real nice. This will be our first big trip in a while and want to go in style. We also plan on spending time at the hotel with napping and swimming and such. My main things I look for in a hotel are a very nice looking and clean room and any special extras, like maybe a large tub? Thank you so much for your help!

Hi - We have been in both the spring and fall and love them both. I think the fall might be my favorite time. The weather is awesome..80degrees, no rain (at least for us) and the parks were never crowded.

The spring is nice too, only hotter when we went. Which also means a lot of humidity. This, unfortunately, makes me and my kids cranky.

We went this past November and had wonderful weather and very little crowds. If you do consider fall, check to find out when Veterans Day is and Jersey Week. This will increase the crowds.

I've also heard the week after Thanksgiving is wonderful. The Xmas decorations are going up...no crowds and nice weather.

As far as a nice place, just keep reading these boards. Lots of nice places in Orlando. We've stayed at Marriott's Grande Vista, Sheraton's Vistana Villages, Orange Lake and Caribe Royale. They are all beautiful and you get a whole villa instead of one hotel room. Nice if you put the little one to bed first. Plus...they all have the large jacuzzi tub and playgrounds, etc..
