Hey guys i know the 2014 vacation packages came out today, and were looking to go in April or July. When is the best time to book for April, and the same for July? Should we book now or wait to see if any deals come out. We're looking at a moderate most likely POR. Last year we booked through southwest, southwest is not available to book that far in advance yet. Should we book through disney now or wait and book through someone else once prices come out for them? We really want to go but we want to get the best deal possible as well. Thanks.

I would book now. If a deal comes out they will apply it to your reservation. I would rather book now and know I have my resort and spot reserved. Discounts can always be applied. It's just my opinion. I am traveling May 2014 and I booked today. I'm hoping the 25% off is offered again this year, if so, I will call and have my reservation adjusted to the new price :)

This for sure ! We booked our Feb. stay today - room only and were able to get a AAA discount , so if nothing else comes along..that's still a great savings for us!

Rack rate 11 nights : $3241.08
AAA rate currently : $2917.10

Current savings : $324.00

I'm definitely in the better safe than sorry boat - because even at discounted rates only so many rooms are alotted so if you can book early , do it :)

If you're going regardless of whether or not a discount comes out for your dates, then I would book now to ensure you get what you want. If your trip is dependent on a discount, I'd wait to see what discounts (if any) come out before booking. The resort you want/have booked must have availability under the promo in order to take advantage of that discount. Sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort/room type as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied. Since Disney releases discounts to fill rooms, booking now "in hopes" of a discount later is one more room Disney does not have to fill, therefore, could lessen the chance of a discount later. Good luck.

I agree with the others, if you are sure you are going, book now. We usually do our shopping around for flights first because we can potentially save way more there than on a resort discount. Once we have our lowest priced fare we then book the resort to match.

Remember, the further out you book, the more time you have to pay it off! :)

I agree with Disneynut1. If you are going and staying at the resort regardless of discounts, book now. That way you know that you have a ressie at the resort with room type that you want. If you are only planning to stay at the resort if a discount is offered you don't want your room to look sold at the full rate. Disney releases discounts based on how the rooms are selling at full price. I often book a room in a resort that I would be willing to stay in if my preferred hotel fails to get the discount that I need. I simply upgrade to the resort of choice if a discount becomes available.
