I'm thinking about visiting Southern California and including DisneyLand to our trip. When is the better off-season to visit during the calendar year, I'm thinking about 2013 during the month of February? Would this be a good month to visit or should I reconsider and plan on sometime in the fall. Thanks.

Either should be fine. I grew up near Disneyland. February will be cooler, maybe even cold, compared to the fall months. August and September can be quite hot. October & November are usually cool and comfortable.

Always take a jacket with you at night, when the ocean breeze moves inland it gets chilly.

I think Hydroguy has a thread that could help you. You might want to take a look at some of his suggestions. He has put a lot of thought into them.

I live near DL and I'll confirm what a PP stated, it does get a little cool in February so you'll want to be prepared. That said, the weather hear doesn't really get COLD. It is a rare night that we drop into the 30s, but it still feels cold to a lot of folks.

Aside from the weather, you should generally be prepared for shorter park hours and ride closures during February. The period from mid-march through the spring break season is one of the few times that DL really has an "off season" and they take advantage of that.

On the upside, crowds will be smaller so moving about the parks will be much easier.

The answer to your question about what is best really depends on what you want to get out of your experience. If you just really hate crowds and aren't much of a night owl anyway, then February might be perfect for you. If crowds don't bother you much and you like the idea of 16 hour days at DL, then you would be better off choosing a different date.

There is really a lot to consider. I encourage you to check out some of the threads about off-season at DL and what to look out for to help you make a more informed decision.

Yes, prepare for shorter hours and ride closures in February. I think cyclenut may have meant the period from mid-January until the beginning of Spring Break season is one of DL's off-seasons. The Spring Break period (beginning approximately mid-March and going until approximately the week after Easter) is quite busy at DL.

Yes ... I meant "until" spring break and not "through" spring break. Thanks for the correction!

Thanks guys, I think I will do more research, maybe April will be better, we usually like to get away around Jan/Feb. since it gets pretty cold here in Maryland. I was thinking about more off season where I'll use less DVC points and hope to get into the new DVC resort in DL at 7 months.
