Best Thing you have done that was an Extra Cost Experiences like Dessert Parties, etc.

5. "Indy racing experience" 10 laps driving your own Indy car at the former WDW speedway.

^ This ^ Probably one of the top ten days of my life! I did the drive a long with a driver... wow... so exciting and exhilerating!

Another vote for Pirates and Palls fireworks cruise. It is pricey but so much fun and so worth it. DH and kids still talk about it, and we did it 3 years ago!

In Sept 2005 they had mornings opened an hour early for families with kids ages 5 and under a few days a week. I can't remember the name. It was free and it was awesome. Fantasyland was the only place open but they had characters galore out. My then 5yr old rode on the carousel with Goofy, did aerobics with Minnie and Daisy, and then watched a duel between Hook and Peter Pan right near the ride. Peter came right up to her, grabbed her hand and told her she needed to help him. Took her to the front of the line and they road together. So much fun!

Extras we thought we're worth it:

Club Villain-This was amazing, we're going again if they bring it back.

MNSSHP-We do this every year, and we love it.

MNSSHP Hallowishes dessert party-We did this the first year it ran/our first year at the party and loved having a reserved spot for everything. Only downside is the dessert party is no longer reserved seating and it takes a lot of party time. We enjoyed the party without it too and probably wouldn't see the need to do it again.

MVMCP-We did this for the first time last year and would go again. (I got to meet Nick Wilde!) We usually don't go during December though so I'm not sure when we'll get to.

Fantasmic Package-We thought this was fun to try, but the meal was very expensive. We did eat at the Brown Derby though, and we loved the seats for Fantasmic.

Wild Africa Trek-I didn't love the meal they served on the trek, but it was a fun experience. It was for my boyfriend's birthday and he loved it.

Dine with an Animal Specialist-Really good deal if you love Sanaa and animals. I probably wouldn't do it more than once, but it was interesting.

Hoop De Doo Revue-This was such a fun show.

Sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness-We really liked doing this too, loved seeing all the decorations at the campsites.

Extras we didn't think we're worth it:

Pirates and Pals-Loved meeting Smee and Captain Hook, but the snack choices were lacking, we had a bad view of the fireworks, they didn't pipe the sound into the boat, and we felt overall the event felt like it was for children.

Early Morning Magic MK-The line outside took so long that we got in later than planned. There were people everywhere by the time we got in, and we barely had any time to enjoy the rides. Did each of them once, then 7DMT a second time and that's all we had time for. Headed to the breakfast buffet after and it was terrible (runny eggs, weird tasting food) and my boyfriend thinks he got cross contamination from something on the buffet (gluten intolerance) which never happens at Disney.

The Wild Africa Trek was so worth it. The food was different, not bad, but I appreciated the opportunity to try something out of the norm.
The Illuminations Cruise was fantastic. It has ruined us for watching Illuminations in the park.
I even enjoyed the Behind the Seeds tour, which is short and inexpensive.

Another vote for Illuminations Cruise. It is quite pricey, but we enjoyed it very much and the view for the fireworks show cannot be beat.

We also enjoyed the Sunrise Safari at AKL, but that is not offered anymore.

I can't find any information on Disney's site about the Illuminations cruise. Is it only offered seasonally? I'm just curious about the pricing compared to the Pirates & Pals cruise.

If you've never come for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a must do!!! Best parade, fireworks, unique desserts, unlimited trick-or-treat candy, and so many villains to meet!! Plus everyone dresses up as their favorite Disney character. So so worth every penney

1. Magic behind our Steam Trains tour
2. Amphicar ride at Disney Springs - very expensive but fun as a one-time splurge
3. MNSSHP - a little disappointed last year that the candy was now identical at almost all treat stations, and you could get the same by buying a bag of assorted candy at your local big box store - but still fun for the character meets, parades, fireworks, decorations such as images and text projected on the ground, etc.

Have not done yet but would like to do next year:
1. Lunch with an imagineer
2. Starlight Safari at AKL

Would have loved to do this one, but it ran only a few months and I did not get the opportunity:
Escape to Walt's Wilderness tour - included pontoon boat ride, tour at Ft. Wilderness with extra historical info, and a breakfast - sure wish they would bring this one back!

We loved the Christmas party at MK a few years ago, it was worth it.
We have done MK and HS dessert parties. HS dessert party was worth it not because the desserts were super fantastic but because we got a great view without fighting the crowds for it. The desserts were decent not terrible at both. MK was just an ok experience we did not care for the view from that area. We plan on booking the dessert party for Wishes again this year but we are booking the Plaza garden view area so we are right in front, that should be worth it.

Best extra-charge event I've done was Club Villain- spectacular in every way!

Another close 2nd was MNSSHP last year- it was my first time to do this event and it was my birthday too; a very magical day!

In a few weeks I'm doing the Backstage Magic tour that starts at Epcot and goes to MK. Also tours Creative Costuming and Central Shops with lunch at Whispering Canyon. I can't wait!

MNSSHP - Fireworks & walk on the rides
The after hours wind down event at Epcot; it's no longer offered, but I really enjoyed walking around an empty Epcot. Being the last ones out, the security guard called a bus from the resort to pick us up. Felt like a VIP.
I loved the Star Wars fireworks party a year ago, we went on Feb 29th and it was amazing.
Party for the Senses during the Food & Wine, reserved seating. Worth every penny, did it two years in a row. Last time we went to PTFS we did general admission, which I will never do again.

I didn't like the Illuminations dessert party or the Wishes dessert party, both get a thumbs down from me.

I can't find any information on Disney's site about the Illuminations cruise. Is it only offered seasonally? I'm just curious about the pricing compared to the Pirates & Pals cruise.

The illuminations cruises are actually called Specialty Cruises on the Disney website. You have to call to get the prices. They are over $350 for the evening for up to 12 people. Holidays are more expensive.

My very favorite add-on experience was at Epcot, during the fall of 2014. Special adult-beverage tastings were offered as an after-hours experience at Spice Road Table, La Cava de Tequila, Rose and Crown, and one of the Italian restaurants. We did the tequila tasting at La Cava. We arrived at the Mexico pavilion after the park closed, and as soon as everyone was checked in, we were ushered into La Cava. There was probably 20-25 people in attendance. We did tastings of 4 tequilas, and the hostess explained all about the process for making tequila, how the different types differ, etc. Each shot was accompanied by an amuse-bouche, just a little nosh of something to go with the tequila. The hostess was very knowledgable about tequila, and we learned a lot that night. We also had a terrific time, being in Epcot after hours, walking through the park while drinking a margarita with almost nobody around! Unfortunately, I don't think they offer this experience any longer. :(

My other favorite add-on is the Illuminations cruise. You get to cruise around the lake at the Boardwalk, then over to Disney studios and back, finally parking in the area of the bridge between the UK and France pavilions for a "front row" seat for Illuminations. I just love doing this!
