Best Thing Ever!!

What has been THE best experience you have ever done while at one of the parks or resorts that anyone can do/pay for?

The Pirates League!!! My family of 5 did this on our last trip. SO MUCH FUN! The CMs were AMAZING! We still talk about what a great experience thst was. pirate:

But everyone had the same access to FP-. This seems to imply that those waiting in standby couldn't use FP- for some reason.

I myself loved going on Soarin' multiple times in one day using FP-; I'm going to miss that! I guess I'd describe myself as a "ride repeater"" - mostly Soarin', TSMM, and BTMRR. I could ride all three over and over! I get so much joy from it. Now I'm going to be a dedicated rope-dropper.

this isn't a fp thread. the cry baby brigade has literally started hundreds of those already.

Awesome, Ive got this booked for the first time when we go in March.

The best thing we ever did was The guided fishing cruise at Bay Lake! It was 2 hours of Large Mouth Bass fishing with a guide who was helping the kids bait their hooks while the adults caught one after another! This was an action packed, lovely experience that was a wonderful break from the theme parks death march.

The number to call about information for these types of fishing trips is 1-407-939-7529.

We have a trip coming up and this is on our must do list!

So many! Dinner at Biergarten. We tried it, reluctantly, on our quick two day trip last March. I say reluctantly as I am NOT a fan of German food. Really I hate it. But I'd heard good things about the place, DH likes German food, and I figured I could find SOMETHING on the buffet to eat.

Oh. My..GOD. Best meal EVER! I wish I could marry that spaetzel and meatballs...and the pretzel bread and cheese soup. Everything was so good! We also had a great interaction with another couple we were seated with. Such a good experience!

MNSSHP. It's a must do for us on each trip (we go at that time of year typically). The fireworks and parade are amazing and worth the price of admission alone.

Ours was staying at the Polynesian for the first time last fall and sitting on the beach, sipping drinks, watching Wishes.

1. The Halloween Party. Our most favorite.
2. Riding Big Thunder during Wishes finale.
3. Narcoossee's during wishes.

Riding Star Tours 13 times in an afternoon. The entire ride cast knew us, let us bypass the standby line for our 13th ride, and even changed the wait time to 13 minutes so we could get our picture in front of it. It was incredible.

Wearing a costume during MNSSHP is a close second. My Gaston costume always got great reactions from CMs and guests, especially meeting Gaston and at Enchanted Tales with Belle.

There are really SO many that it's hard to pick a favorite. We just got off a cruise on the Disney Magic in January (1st time on that ship) and it ranks truly as one of my FAVORITE Disney vacations. Prior to the cruise we spent 2 nights at a hotel near Port Canaveral, and on the day before the cruise we were looking for something to do. What did we decide? We drove an hour to Walt Disney World! While there, we had lunch at the Kona Cafe (we actually WALKED in as a party of 7 right before lunchtime and got seated quickly once lunch started at noon) and had a delicious meal. We love Kona.

After that, I had booked that morning a Bay Lake Fishing Excursion for 5 of the party (3 adults and 2 kids) so they all went and did that for about 2.5 hours. While they did that, my older son and I rented a little Mouse Racer speedboat and just tooled around Bay Lake ourselves for about an hour, then hit the arcade at the Contemporary.

When everybody returned, we then hit the MK to help my in-laws buy their APs and TIW cards since they return this weekend for a solo trip. Then we had to find a place for dinner, but our favorites were all booked. I knew I'd heard good things here about Boatwrights, so we decided to walk-in there for an early dinner (around 4:30pm maybe) and take our chances. We were seated pretty quickly and really enjoyed our meal there! We may have to come back there in the future!

So in summary these are a few of my favorites:
  • Disney Magic Cruise
  • Fishing Excursion on Bay Lake (we've done this twice...well my family has since I've never been but they all LOVE it)
  • Illuminations Cruise (done this twice, but I skipped the second one due to child's illness)
  • Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party (done this twice...enjoyed it both times)
  • MNSSHP (have done this adults-only a few times combined with F&W trip, but my two youngest kids were with us the very first time...not that they remember)
  • Food and Wine Festival (adults only trip...done this a few times)
  • Visting the parks during Thanksgiving week and viewing the Osborne Lights and the holiday decorations as well as the Candlelight Processional (we've done this a few times)

One year we also used DVC points to get a 3BR Villa at SSR for 9 of us and also booked a studio room for my brother and his girlfriend at the time. We loved being able to cover this expense and have so much of our family there with us...my parents, my husband's parents and my brother. It was a great Thanksgiving week trip. Thanksgiving 2012 we did a park-cruise-park trip and rented a treehouse at SSR for 9 of us which I loved...but the other family didn't love that one as much. Our first stay at Kidani Village in a 2BR Safari View room one May was also fabulous. It was a hot May and we spent a lot of time at the Kidani pool which had just opened not long before. We loved that trip. The first time we stayed at BLT was also wonderful.

So many great Disney memories that I truly can't narrow it down. We have been extremely fortunate.

Then there was that one time I planned a NON-DISNEY trip to Florida. We took the kids to Legoland, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Tampa all for the first time for some of them. Our 2nd night into the trip. we headed to WDW property to eat at Sanaa...our family of five and my in-laws. As we enjoyed a great dinner, my 70+ year old FIL mentioned maybe just maybe we could visit ONE Disney park this trip? How do you say no to that? I tried...maybe. Before I knew it I was sitting at Busch Gardens Tampa the next day and on my phone trying to book VERY last minute rooms for two more nights. We ended up staying at the WDW Swan for two nights AFTER checking out of our off-property hotel and then visiting HS, EPCOT and MK over two days. Talk about last minute planning...it was crazy but fun.

One of the best days (evening) ever, was when I discovered the British Invasion at Epcot. I just kinda stumbled upon the garden area. I got a cold beer and sat down to enjoy the music. My daughter grabbed my hand and began to dance when they played I want to hold your hand. :cool1:

It was really cool. The kids (via mom) got me the complete Beatles set for Christmas. When we visit Disney we always visit the UK garden area. I enjoy British Revolution but not as much as British Invasion...

For me it's all about my kids now. Anything that makes them smile absolutely delights me and DW. DD's first trip to MK 2 years ago, walking into town square as the MSEP was starting and seeing the wide eyed look on her face - priceless. DS posing for photopass pics after Pirate's League. The smiles and laughs all around on the Pirates and Pals cruise. DD meeting her current favorite princess. Chip and Dale getting down on the floor and playing with both of my kids when there was no one at their M&G. It's the kind of stuff that keeps us coming back.

Winning a contest for a 4-night WDW trip for 4. I've had this happen twice.

Trip 1) AKL Savannah View
Trip 2) Poly - MK View - Included July 4 fireworks

We have so many it's hard to choose, but I think it was during DS10 first trip when he was 4. We had tickets to the Pirate and Princess Party (I sooooo wish they would bring this back!) and he dressed up in his Captain Jack Sparrow costume. We went to CM for his birthday dinner and Donald Duck brought him out a pirate Mickey birthday cake. Then, we went to the MK for the party, which was amazing. The special lights, shows, treasure hunt, everything was just great. The look on my DS face when we walked down Main Street and they had special fog and light projections is something I will never forget....pure magic.

SO many...

first I remember that has really stuck with me was a day-camp kids tour thing where we were on a pontoon boat in the seven seas lagoon, followed a pirate map to buried treasure that ended up being a chest full of marshmallows that we roasted on a campfire on the beach, epic (probably circa 1980).

next was a dinner at the Empress lily room, there was a steward assigned just to keep our water glasses full and we were trying to race him to finish a glass before he refilled it and got brain freeze.

I did a backstage tour as a teenager that was focused on art in the parks and had an animator teach us to draw a Mickey (can still do it following the same tips 30 yrs later).

We've done the fireworks cruises and fishing excursions and loved those.

My brother got married in Disney and there were a whole host of unique things most people wouldn't encounter (reception in the living seas)

But my absolute favorite #1 pick would be the Wild Africa Trek. Its not a backstage tour, the entire thing is "on stage" the Cms stay in character like its a real safari, but the time and depth you get to spend on it are amazing, and we loved the adventurous parts like the rickety rope bridge over the crocodiles, and the meal in the boma out on the savannah as we watched the wildlife (a baby rhino came out from some bushes right in front of my daughter and I after the rest of the group had walked away and it was very special and precious to us).
