Hi,

I need a little input. We are planning an October 2004 trip to the world. My 5 year old daughter asked me if the next time we went to Disney we could get a hotel that had a cool pool lol. I guess she was not impressed with FW campgrounds pool. I have looked at some pics but any input would be appreciated.

I would say the answer depends in part on your budget - for a deluxe

The biggest themed pool is SAB at Beach/Yacht Club - 3 acres+ of swimming pool fun almost like a water park - many think this is the best pool as well

It has a sandy bottom area, lazy river, big slide etc.

It may be too big to track a 5yr old though

thanks

In regards to Values... they're really not going to have much in the way of "cool pools", being that they're value resorts. The main pool will have some sprayer jets. Moderate resorts will usually add in a slide, and some other cool decorations. And Deluxes will go even further with SAB, or zero depth entry.

In regards to Pop Century... it has three pools, plus a Pop Jet pool. The Hippy Dippy pool is the main pool, and is shaped like a flower petal. It also has spritzer jets that spray into the pool. The computer pool is just a square monitor, but has a spongy keyboard nearby. The Bowling pin pool is in a neat shape, but that's about it.

Pop Century is also the first resort to have a Pop Jet area, which is VERY popular with the younger kids.

my kids are older now, but we have stayed at the Music and Movies. at the music down by the country fair bldg, which is at the end, its a piano pool, with the black and white stripes, but it has a cute Aeriel statue there. And at the Movies the main pool has a big Mickey Sorcerer with water spraying out of it. Its cute. They do not have slides. I like the Movies pool it seemed really roomy for everyone.

for atmosphere & just plain fun - the port orleans main pool has a great slide & pool - very new orleans

a little up the price range is the wilderness lodge's out door area - the pool also has a slide & hot tubs & a geyser & nice lake view

My nephews also wanted a cool pool. I did a lot of research. I think your best bet is to upgrade to moderate. They seem to have better pools than the value yet still cheaper rooms than the Deluxes. POR has a waterslide. Which is one of the features that is important to my nephews. According to the unofficial guide, POR has the second best pool. It only lost out to the YC/BC. I would have loved to stay there but it was just to expensive maybe next year.

Thanks guys!!

My daughter wouldnt go down a slide (I would!!) She saw the pics of pop century and movies and likes both so shes not helping with my decision. If the AP rates are good in sept/oct then I just might switch to a moderate. Which is better POR or POFC? She really liked the boat rides when we were at the campground so if we were to switch to moderate it would be one of of those so she could take her boat ride to DTD. Now if i had lotsa bucks My top choice would be WL we checked that resort out when we had dinner at the Whispering canyon Cafe (so much fun) that resort is beautiful it was also christmas time so that added to the magic.
