Hello all,

Apologies if this topic has already been covered a lot already; however just thinking about the best take back to the hotel food available in and around the park; in case my girlfriend is a bit too tired to be sat down in a restaurant for a long time after a hard day in the parks!

Another vote for Earl of Sandwich - lovely warm sandwiches (think Subway but better), lots of choice - my incredibly fussy, mayo avoiding younger sister was able to find something to eat - it was fast and not overly expensive.

Best food = Annettes
Best value = McDonalds
Best overall = Earl of sandwich

We have only done this once but it was from annettes and it was great!

Unless you want chips and burgers I'd be going straight to EoS....best, cheapest, freshest etc etc everything you could think off really in DV :goodvibes

Definetely not Annettes we had take out Tuesday waited over half hour for the food to be cooked. I had euro chick dh had rock n roll burger both were really dry and tasteless and the chips were cold and soggy! Each meal was like 15-16 euros and they fitted the burger and chips in the bottom half
of a box the same size a big mac comes in. We were very disappointed. If you want burger and chips mcdonalds is nicer, bigger , cheaper and quicker.

That's how I've seen it done too :crazy2:

You don't get all the bits that come with it when you eat in and it's all squashed up together

I'm anti Annettes anyway as I've given it 3 chances and it has just got worse especially since it went back 100% under Disney :rolleyes2

It would be EOS for my anyday!

I am an annettes' fan for eat-in, but I have never had a great takeaway meal from them - the size of the meal is tiny in comparison to the eat-in meals and yet they charge the same amount. :confused3

I agree that Annette's take out isn't great. I've only eaten there once, but I'd expected it to be a quick option before we went to catch the Eurostar. As it turned out we waited ages for our order, had to rush to go and collect luggage from the desk and get to our train, we realised on arrival at the station that they had our order wrong but it was too late to do anything about it, and the food was really not very nice. I'd expected it to be like a takeout version of the yummy food we had on our first night when we dined in, but it was nothing like it. DD was sick in her bed that night as well, but that may have been down to the late night travelling or something else.

I think New York Style Sandwiches is worth a mention too. We had a nice sandwich with 2 sides for €9 or €12 and it was fresh and tasty.

But who am I kidding - EoS wins every time. Plus 10% off for shareholders!

And AP holders :thumbsup2

I have to try NY Style sandwiches since they did it up and changed the menu a bit but I always get side tracked by EoS.

Will put it on my list :goodvibes

thanks a lot for the feedback so far, surprised and disappointed about Annette's as im a big fan of the sit in meal but it does seem like the two dont correlate unfortunately!

Whats Mcdonalds like on English speakers? Ive got my GCSE in French but havent done that for 12 years and unless they are speaking English or Welsh i may struggle!

You can order via touch screens in several languages including English. You then go and pick it up at a special counter

Otherwise I'm guessing they speak English to some degree behind the counters as they get so many tourists passing through there :)

I'm sure I ordered in English and French at Disney, and in French elsewhere in Paris but staff all seemed to speak English, mind you, I ordered everything by the French names.

I've never had a problem with the one in DLP and them understanding me.. although it was a different story at the one in Val D'europe. I ordered a Big Mac and ended up with a salad... unfortunately they didn't understand me and I didn't understand them, made me wish I'd paid more attention in French class!

You will be fine in the one at DLP though, they deal with the English all day long so will definitely be able to understand you and take your order. Or there's the cool electronic ordering station, that just make life SO much easier!

You just need to watch the right films to get by...

Jules: Well, if you like burgers give 'em a try sometime. I can't usually get 'em myself because my girlfriend's a vegitarian which pretty much makes me a vegitarian. But I do love the taste of a good burger. Mm-mm-mm. You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France?
Brett: No.
Jules: Tell 'em, Vincent.
Vincent: A Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese! You know why they call it that?
Brett: Because of the metric system?
Jules: Check out the big brain on Brett! (removed the rest...)
