I have a 2004 Honda Accord which has almost 81,000 miles. I still like my car but am getting the itch to get something new. Not sure I can do that yet because we are still paying off my DH's SUV off. But that doesn't mean I can't look...right? :rotfl2: I have been web brousing but I'm not sure which one is the right one. :surfweb: I want to find a relatively inexpensive one but would love to have the 3rd row seating. My kids are grown but we do have a car seat for my granddaughter and sometimes we go places with my family and/or friends and it would be really nice to have something we can all fit in instead of taking more than one car. Anybody have an SUV they love and would recommend?

I loved my Expedition that I drove for years, but it is rather large SUV. I went down to the old Pilot when I only had one child at home, but that really was too small for me so I gave it to my kids last year. I now drive the new Pilot and I absolutely love it. It is a lot roomier than the old Pilot, but now quite as big as my Expedition was and gets better gas mileage.

Like you, I occasionally need to seat quite a few people so the third row seat is nice. Hondas due hold their values will which I also like. Unfortunately they are not cheap, but I believe you get what you pay for. Good luck!

Love my 2011 Toyota Highlander. It has 3rd row seats (you couldn't actually do a trip with luggage, as it takes up almost the entire "trunk" area) and one of the highest safety ratings of the SUV's. It was also available in 4 cyl, which I got to help save in gas. I was deciding between that and the Pilot (also has outstanding safety ratings), but the 4 cyl and better braking ('11 Pilot was actually rated pretty bad in emergency braking) are why I chose the Highlander. That and the $24,000 price tag for a new SUV (which I needed for higher clearance due to the road leading to our house). Their resale is sometimes higher than new. Go figure.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Toyota Sequoia! It's been my most favorite vehicle ever. I've had a Tahoe before and I really liked that too, but the Sequoia by far is my fav. 3rd row seating even with the seats up we still have lots of cargo space. I can sit 8 people and it is 8 full seats, none of the little half jump seats. My husband often sits in the back when my parents visit and he has plenty of leg room. Everyone I have ever taken in my car has loved the space.

I bought a Mercedes ML 350 in July and I absolutely adore it. If you get a certified pre-owned they are a little easier on the wallet, especially when Mercedes is offering super low financing, like 1.9%.
We looked at the Cayennes too, but the Mercedes just seemed to have a nicer fit and finish.

I love my Pilot! It's my first SUV after many years in a minivan. I love, love, love it!

I have a Toyota Rav4 with the 3rd row seating. We only have 1 kid so we've never actually used the third row (had no intentions of getting a 3rd row but our car was totaled and we needed something ASAP and this was what they had in our price range). It's an '07 with 28k and we got it for btw $14,000 & $15,000.

Prior to that I had a Hyundai Santa Fe. Don't know if it has an option for 3rd row seating, but I LOVED that car. Someone ran a stop sign & totaled it & we got stuck with the Rav4... the Rav is a nice enough SUV, I have no complaints, but I liked my Santa Fe a whole lot better. Rav has better resale value though.

My DH has the Santa Fe and loves it so he told me I should get that but I told him "I don't want the same car as you!" :rotfl:

Lol, I'm the same way! DH & I have the exact some colored cars right now (I had no choice -- had to replace my car ASAP because of the accident) and it REALLY irks me for some reason.

Let me plug my own vehicle for a minute. I have a Mitsubishi Outlander. It's wonderful! It has an (optional) third row seating. It has a ton of air bags. You can get it with an active steering control and 4wd if you need those options. Mine has navi, a huge hdd that records every cd I put in there and satellite radio with Rockford Fosgate speakers. It also has a sunroof. I paid under $25k for my fully loaded 4-cyl. A 6-cyl costs a bit more. I get great gas mileage even though I drive like a maniac.

The new Outlander Sports are even better. I want a new one!!

I can vouch for the knee airbags Mitsubishi uses. I totaled a Lancer and really should have broken something. I wasn't buckled in and hit a stopped boat at a pretty good rate of speed. (Foggy pre-dawn morning, no trailer lights.) The only thing I got was bruised and scratched.

I Agree!! I have a 2003 Sequoia with 150,000 miles and a 2009 Sequoia and I LOVE them both. The 2003 Sequoia was my DH's and he got tired of me stealing it so he bought another newer one for me:lmao:

Oh yes...plug away. I haven't looked at the Mitsubishi but I will definitely check it out. I definitely want a 6 cyl. Thanks!

Mine is a 2010, the newer body style. Is your 2009 the newer style? My friend has an 03 I think, and she loves her's too. A few weeks ago I had a guy pull up next to me in a Tundra and he was asking about it, said he was thinking of trading his truck in for one. Then right after that, I had this lady in a parking lot come to "check it out". She told her husband she wanted one. :lmao: I really do love it. I can't say enough good things about. It's my baby, and I've never been that way about a vehicle before.

I love my Sequoia, too!! It is really big though, so if you don't need all that space it might not be what you are looking for. I love that the third row seats are like real seats and not tiny things that only 6 year olds can fit in.
