Where would I find the best sushi in Disney? Could be a park or resort, doesnt matter to me. Thanks!!!!

I don't like sushi, but my DH is obsessed with it, and he loved the sushi he had at the little counter at Kona at the Poly. He also had some sushi from the QS place in Japan at Epcot and said it was terrible. :confused3 I wouldn't know good sushi from bad sushi, honestly! :rotfl:

California Grill is by far the best I've had at Disney, but we haven't tried Tokyo Dining or Kimonos (at the Swan) yet because of the dining plan and both generally get good reviews. Kona's sushi bar is good too, but not traditional which may or may not be a good thing depending on your tastes.

The counter service sushi I've had (at Japan and Sunshine Seasons) is basically grocery store quality, limited options and only so-so taste.

DS18 and I enjoyed the sushi at Cali Grill... (I have pics if you want ...)

But I made those ADR's long before finding out about Kimonos...

I wanted to try Kimono's SO MUCH! but after walking all the way over there... realized they are only open for Dinner... and we didn't have any dinner times available in our schedule of ADR's...

Have a magical visit !
Mary

Kimono's is very good and restaurant.com has a $25 coupon for only $10. Plus, there is always a coupon floating around that will cut 80-90% off of that price.

Thanks everyone! Im thinking we'll try Cali Grill which will be easy since we're staying at the Poly, and maybe we'll try the Kona Sushi bar one night for a light dinner. I dont think we'll end up making our way to the Swan.

Kimonos (dining plan not accepted), California Grill, Wolfgang Puck Cafe or the Kona Sushi Bar (open 5 PM and after only).

California Grill has awesome sushi! We are trying out Kimono's a week from today. We got the $25 Restaurant.com certificate for $2 last month.

I have had sushi everywhere except counter service in Japan, because it looks like supermarket sushi. Bleh.

I would say the best sushi I've had was at three places, in no particular order:

California Grill
Kimono's
Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Downtown Disney West Side

Kona sushi bar had adequate sushi, but it wasn't on the same level (to me) as the other places I mentioned. Same thing with Tokyo Dining. Both are decent, but they don't impress me as much as the others do.

Whoa1! Sweet deal, how did you score that?

Restaurant.com runs promotions for periods of time each month where there is a discount code to use. I believe right now you can get them for 70% off ($3) for using the word MEAL at checkout. I think it runs through Monday night.

There is a minimum $35 dollar purchase but that's easy for us when eating sushi.

I was going to mention Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD as well. Very good! (and even allowed on DDP)

This was the sushi meal allowed on DDP. Platters:Chef's Sampler Platter - Spicy tuna roll with 5 pieces of nigiri sushi and 3 pieces of fresh sashimi, edamame soy beans, and shiitake mushroom miso soup $24.95

Wolfgang Puck Cafe has some mighty good sushi

Awesome! Thanks so much.

My husband really enjoyed the sushi from the Kona Island sushi bar at the Poly. We had dinner at the Kona Cafe and they allow you to order from the sushi bar menu at dinner. We haven't had sushi from anywhere else at Disney.
