Best summer shoes for a park touring Toddler

Stride Rite sandals. They are indestructible and comfortable.

Crocs are nothing more than plastic houseshoes. My 7yr old has wide, flat feet and they worked well for her as a preschooler. I would never suggest regular style Crocs for any person who has an arch. They provide zero support.

Teva Psyclones are great! Our DD has never had a blister from them. We do check them throughout the day and loosen them if her feet seem to be swelling from the heat.

These were going to be my suggestion as well. But be aware that they do run a tad big - DS has these in a 12, but wears a 13 or 13.5 in sneakers.

When DD was 2.5, she wore fake crocs from walmart. they were $5. No blisters. No sore feet. At that age they tend to be in strollers quite a bit, don't they?!

We also never broke our Keens in. I think I pulled the tags off that morning. I liked a breathing shoe that had a closed toe. I didn't want a scraped toe or rocks to get in the sandals on vacation when we are walking all day. Love my Keens!!!

That is why we always do closed toe shoes in the parks. It offers some protection against catching or scraping her toes on something or getting stepped on etc.

If you decide to try Stride Rite, and your child has never worn that brand before, be sure to really have the child test them out before the trip to be sure of the fit. Some people swear by them, but DD has never been able to wear Stride Rite. Since she was little they have always fallen right off her feet. The front of her foot is wide, so the store would have to put her in a wide to get the shoes to fit, but then the heels were way too wide for the back of her feet and they would slip up and down until one or both shoes came off. Even if they didn't slip in the store, they would start doing it the minute they were broken in. She wears a wide in several brands of shoes (especially when she was younger- now she can wear more in regular sizes), and Stride Rite are the only shoes she has ever had that problem with

We are definitely a KEEN family! My boys have the Newport H2's (sandals) and the Parkers (sneakers). We did 11 days w/the KEEN Parkers in Feb and my boys never complained once. My 6 y/o walked the whole time and his feet were fine. No blisters or anything. These shoes may be pricey but they are extremely durable and comfortable (I love my KEEN Mary Janes!). Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

wow- 50 bucks for sandals.
Nope cant do it.

Keens are not sandals, but a hybrid shoe. They are very high quality, and can be used for hiking, watersports, etc., so they are hardly a flimsy sandal type of shoe.

That being said, hubby and I don't find them as comfortable as our Teva or Merrills, but our kids love their Keens! They wear them for at least 6-7 months of the year, so well worth it.

Remember that August is three months away! He size could change by even a whole size by then. I think the fit is as important as the style and brand of shoe. Ever since our 5 year old has been a toddler, his favorite has been a pair of the classic crocks. They are great too if she is wants to get in the fountains. I have bought some of the higher end sandals but he is just not a fan. Tennis type shoes are not terrible but the problem is that socks often get wet from fountains or from sweat and they cause blisters!

i think i would not mind 50 bucks if she didnt grow like a weed. Once her feet stop growing-- its a good consideration but I swear new shoes every other month right now.

Hi

My kids are just at that age when they seem to outgrow a pair of shoes every month. I go to Macy's who seem to give the best deals on kids shoes, they have the best quality of brands and the shoes are very comfortable according to my kids. They are also reasonable priced so it is not expensive at all.

Thanks
