Best strategy for MVMCP

Are there special tee shirts or pins for the MVMCP??? Where are they sold?? And where are the photo spots to get your picture taken?? Thanks for the info 8 of us (5 kids :earseek: )will be there on Dec 6th.

They sell the special shirts, sweatshirts in various places...I've seen them at the Emporium on Main Street and I saw them at a store outside Pirates.

Last year the photo stops were at: Adventureland, near HOP, near IASW, another in Fantasyland near the Castle, and Tomorrowland.

Hi. We're going the same night as you are. Our tentative plans are similar to yours.

6:15 Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas
Ride some favorites
7:40 Belle's Enchanted Christmas
Get some cookies and cocoa and get picture taken during first parade
Wishes
More rides
10:45 Parade
Midnight Celebrate the Season Show

We're planning to do nothing all day so that we can make it til the end. My kiddos are a bit older than yours though (from 14 down to 6). We're staying in the Wing at the Contemporary so I'm thinking after midnight, we can easily just walk back to the hotel and drop into bed. :teeth:

Great--stop and say hi if you see us--I'll have my lime green mickey ears on my backpack & stroller!!! We are going to DTD in the morning and napping all afternoon...The little one may still fall asleep in the stroller since she will doze off anywhere! And we are sleeping in the next morning (which unfortunately only means until 7:00 for our kids:( ) I think my mom, dh & I will need a later morning than that though...we're all usually in bed pretty early!

Hey! maybe we'll see you one th 4th!

What we do each time is go right to Adventureland as soon as we get there. Each time we've gone to the party, main street is really crowded, but when we get to Adventurland, it's practically empty.

We save Fantasyland and Tororrowland for the last 2 hours and it's never been bad.

Can you believe it's only one month away?!!! :dancer:

We've been 3 times but not in the last 3 or 4 years. We always get our pictures taken right away, but walk to the back of the park and there is usually no line at all. lots of people wear santa mickey hats, or reindeer ears, or something. We went to target and DDs and I found these kind of christmas crown things on headbands we wore for fun. This year DH and I will have custom made shirts and glow necklaces (at least I will) Hoping to make it to the very end.

One more tip. Don't get on a ride close to the fabulous firework times. We thought we had time to ride Splash Mountain and the ride stopped inside for maybe about 30 minutes. We barely got off in time to see the fireworks and needless to say we didn't have much of a view.

Oh and we'll be there on the 4th as well. What fun we're all going to have!!!

Thanks for the info Beatty Family. ANother ? Do they have a light up party necklace like MNSSHP??? Thanks again

Thanks for all the tips! We are planning on going the night of the 29th! Gonna keep my nephew that day home from day care and have the boys take a late nap and then off to MK when SIL gets home from work. I can't wait, this is my first time at MVMCP! I've done Disney the week of Christmas when all the special stuff was going on but not like this. I'm soo excited!

That is so cool! Make sure to say "HI" if you see us!!!!

BTW, if you don't see the lime green Mickey's but hear a man or woman constantly saying "Hayden - stop that" or "Hayden - get over here" It is probably us :rotfl:

And if you hear someone one yelling, "Jack where are you? Jack come back. Jack stay with the rest of us. Jack don't EAT that! " It's most likely us. :teeth:

I'm going to tie a lime green ribbon to my fanny pack! Hope to see you all there on 12-04!

Our 1st this year...where & when (i.e. for how long) are the photos taken?

Crowd wise, is the 2nd parade more manageable? Dark secret, we're not big on parades, and the amount of time they burn.

Last year there were 5 locations...Adventureland, HOP, IASW, near the Castle/Phillarmagic, and Tomorrowland...all night long.

Sometimes the second parade is less crowded but I've still had to stake out a spot at least 1/2 - 45 minutes beforehand, but I like seeing it on Main Street.

My family and I are doing MVMCP on Dec 4 also. We are going to DTD for the morning then heading back to WL :goodvibes for a short break and then heading to MK :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . We have ADR for LLT at 5:35 and then wait for the opening :cheer2: I can't wait for the kids to do the party (DD 32 :earsgirl: , DS 27 :earboy2: and soon to be DSIL ? )

What is Belle's enchanted Christmas like? Is a good show for kids ages 5,5,9, 10? About how long is it?

I don't want to spend the whole evening doing shows because we are not actually going to the MK except for the MVMCP. So I need a nice balance of shows and rides.

I'm trying to figure out which shows are worth waiting for and which aren't.
Also how long before the start of a show do you have to line up?

I need some MVMCP veteran to take pity on a first timer!! Thanks!!! :sunny:

Do they let you ride rides during 6-7 in what ever land they make you stay in?

Hi, we too are going on the 4th with a 5 and 3 yr old. It is our first MVMCP. We have plans to go early to MK that day, have ADR for CP at 8:15am, then we will do a couple of rides in a "land" before heading back to the hotel for a nap. I figure we will be up early anyway ( my kids are always up by 7am, late night or not) so we may as well get them a little tired so they will nap in the early afternoon!.. ;) Then it is back to MK for ADR @ 4:30pm @LTT then party time! :cool1:

While I would prefer to see the second parade, I don't want to risk my kids not making it that late, so we will see the first. But I also don't want to spend 1 hour :earseek: of precious party time holding a spot. Anyone know if there is an area where we could watch with little wait time? Should we just put our kids on our shoulders and stand behind others on Main Street?

Thanks for all the info from everyone!

While the Belle show is cute, it's short and IMHO, not one of the best shows unless your child adores Belle. It's right outsite Ariel's grotto and I think they ask for a couple of child volunteers. The Twas the Night before Christmas show is worth seeing though.

Not sure how much time but the Twas is very popular so maybe 1/2 hour? The Belle one at least 15 minutes.

Yes, the rides will be kept open for that hour only in the land they keep open.

For the first parade, it will be difficult to get a spot on Main Street less then an hour before. Frontierland/Liberty Square is less crowded then Main Street.

I am also going on the 20th for the first time and this thread has been a huge help!! Cant wait to go!!

Maddie's Mom Hi !!! we're going to be there the 13th too!!! Welcome to the DIS. Although this will be our first trip to MVMCP I took dd now 6 to MNSSHP when she had just barely turned 3 and at midnight she was still going strong! threw fit because she did not want to leave so much to occupy her (and from looking at the schedule posted here there are more things to do at Christmas) and like your daughter her bedtime was at 9 but with a naptime for everybody in the afternoon we were ok we just didn't have an early start the next day but very worth it. I can't wait for all the Christmas stuff!!

We will also be there on the 20th for our first ever MVMCP and first Christmas trip to the world. We are staying from 12/20 to 12/26. However we are only doing the parks on 12/22, 12/23 and 12/24 and of course MVMCP on 12/20. The party will be our only day at MK unless they change MK evening EMH to Friday (like they did on our June trip this year). So, I am thinking of the following schedule:

4:00 - Arrive at MK
4:00-6:00 - Ride rides in lands that will close at 6
6:00-7:00 - Ride rides in Tomorrowland or Frontierland whichever stays open
7:15 - Twas the Night before Christmas
8:05 - Dinner at LTT
9:15 - Wishes (Where is best place to view since just left dinner at LTT?)
9:30-10:30 - Rides Fantasyland????
10:45 - Parade
11:10 - Belles Fairytale Garden
Midnight - Celebrate Seasons at Castle

What are your opinions? Any suggestions? Main Christmas events not to be missed?? Where can you view Wishes from?
