Hello, I am getting hardwood floors and I want to get a steam mop. I heard that Bissell and Shark are good. Any opinions on which is better and where is the cheapest place to buy?
Thanks

I bought a Shark yesterday, and I love it! It did a great job getting the dirt off my vinyl kitchen floor. I have scrubbed and scrubbed that floor, and the path from the patio door to the mud room always looks dirty. It now looks CLEAN (well, at least until my kids get home from school :rotfl:).

Like I said, I got it yesterday, so I can't comment on it's durability, but I'm impressed so far. I even tried it on a bit of my hardwood, and it worked well there too. I got it at Big Lots. It's factory reconditioned, but it still came with a warranty, so I figured it was worth the $55 to give it a try.

I bought a HAAN thru QVC. Have used it a few times and love it. Easy to operate, absolutely no water build up on the floor, and it came with 2 microfiber pads. My kitchen is original hardwood, and it comes out sparkling.

I also have a HAAN - I purchased it through thier website (about $100). It is FABULOUS!!! I have had it for about 8 months now. I have about 2500 sq ft of tile in my house and it cleans it beautifully. I'll never got back to the mop again. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you asked this because I was thinking of hinting about one of these for Mother's Day.

I bought the Shark at BJs on Sunday for 59.99 and I LOVE it! I cannot believe how clean it gets my linoleum and laminate floors and I love how it dries immeadiately...no wet socks! :)

The package came with a total of 5 floor cleaning pads. I am very happy with my purchase.

That's a good deal. I ordered mine off Kohl's and I think I paid about 85 bucks for it and it came with only 2 pads. I have used it twice and love it! My husband thinks it's a novelty that will wear off...:rotfl2:

can everyone post links of the ones they have there are so many different models

I have the Bissell--it is light green. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and used it on my hardwood floors. Did a great job, and there was very little water left and it dried quickly. I also really appreciated the swivel head, it makes it very easy to reach those tight places.

Was that the Shark Deluxe model?

No. I was just reading about the differences and I think the Deluxe has a longer power cord (25 ft. vs. 20 ft.) and includes the carpet attachment. I did get the 5 microfiber pads, though. Maybe that is a "club" deal.

OOOH, you got the last one! LOL I was there a couple of weeks ago and they had the sign out, but they were all SOLD OUT. I want one and would have paid the $59 for it. I hope that they have more when I go to BJ's tonight!

I live in NE Ohio and I bought mine on Sunday and they had quite a few. I am going back today to grocery shop...I will see what they have and let you know! (Not that it would help in Maryland, but still! :goodvibes)

I've been looking at this one: http://www.brylanehome.com/decor/As-Seen-on-TV-H2O-Mop.aspx?PfId=12357&DeptId=15548&producttypeid=2&PurchaseType=G&pref=ps

It's the H2O mop that uses only water (obviously LOL). Anyone have it? The reviews on the site are excellent!

I got this one a few weeks ago. I must have caught a sale b/c I paid $85 plus $1 s/h. I love it. I borrowed my mom's bissell before mine arrived. i liked it too. the cleaning pad on the EuroFlex is a little larger and the tank seems to hold more water. Oh and the cord is long enough for me to do three rooms (kitchen, dinning, LR, before unplugging)

How do the steam mops work on laminate? I have dark laminate flooring in my living room and no matter what I use to clean them, I have terrible streaks. Drives me crazy!

I started out with the original white Bissell Steam Mop. I really liked it, especially the swivel head. That alone was a great feature. I did find that the covers wore out quickly and it did leave water on my floor. It eventually died after 5 years of use. And we are talking daily use since I have a home daycare.

I now have a Shark. I love that it is truly steam and I get no water left on the floor. But it does not feel as strong as the Bissell and I really wish it had a swivel head.

I saw the infomercial for the Haan and it looks like it would be so much better then the Bissell and Shark.
