My solo trip is quickly turning into a father/daughter trip, and we're going during free dining. We're probably going to be staying at POP where we'd get the QSDP, but thinking about upgrading to the regular DDP. My dad wants steak! :rotfl: So, here's my question... where is the best steak? Le Cellier? or somewhere else? Thanks!

For my money it is definitely Le Cellier! :thumbsup2 I did have a really good one at The Coral Reef too.:flower3:

for 2 TS credits, we loved the filet at Jikos.

wewillb e trying Yahctsman steakhouse for the first time in a few weeks. heard great things!

We had a great steak at Grand floridian cafe.

one of the best "hidden secrets" of WDW restaurants. maybe it's the name, casue it doesn't look like a cafe at all. pretty fancy, with nice views out the windows. very good food and service.:thumbsup2

2 Fabulous places that are 1 TS credit are the ribeye at Whispering Canyon, also Turf Club at Saratoga Springs Resort.

IMO, favorites in this order

1. Shulas at the Dolphin Hotel
2. Turf Club at saratoga Springs

Shula's has the best steak.
But since you are on the DDP, Yachtsman would be my second choice.

Le Cellier kansas city strip was great. dw had the filet and she loved that as well. if you can get there before it becomes a 2ts meal then that is where i would go

Or go for lunch for only 1TS and you can still get the filet! This is totally the way to go. I'm going to have to check out the GF cafe menu. Never eaaten there. Sounds interesting!

We just came back from a 10 day trip on the DDP and ate at almost every signature restaurants and at Le Cellier.
My hubby, a pure carnivore, ate a rare steak every night and his favorite one was at Flying Fish. He thought it was funny because he was expecting to eat fish on that night but was not disappointed with the server's recommendation. Enjoy!

I am a big steak lover. We just got back 3 weeks ago and the best steak we had was Yachtsmen's Steakhouse. If you are a little more adventurous the buffalo at Artist Point melted in your mouth. If money is no problem the smoked Elk at V&A is to die for.

Yachtsmen Steakhouse is our favorite but it is 2 credits. We had our best meal at Kona cafe,(last week) teriaki steak. It was thick, tender and cooked perfectly. Hubby had steak at Coral Reef and it was Ok. Very thin but tasty. LeCellier is also a fav but we haven't been able to get in for dinner lately.

Haven't been to Grand Floridian Cafe in a few years but the steaks were good back then.

Yachtsman is by far the best steakhouse in Disney, but it's two dining plan credits.

For one credit, I have to agree with whoever mentioned Kona at the Polynesian. I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised with that place in general. It's definitely a step below many of the "signature" restaurants, but you'll still get a good meal.

If your going to be on either the QSDP or DDP, I would go and pay OOP at Shula's or Yachtsman (in that order). IMO, there is a huge drop off from Shula's to Yachtsman and then Yachtsman to everything else. Most other steaks on property are on par with an Outback or some other chain steakhouse. If you want really good steak go with either Shula's or Yachtsman, after that you can't really go wrong with anyone elses suggestions.

Yeah, Shula's is the best. Yachtsman is a ways down the rung and falling further. We used to love the Chateaubriand at Yachtsman. Its not even on the menu now. And, the menu choices have been reduced in other ways too. Plus, the prices have increased significantly. I noticed ravioli was something like $30. I guess if you're on DDP, no problem. But, if you're paying OOP and want a good meal, pick Shula's. The pricing is a bit better than Yachtsman and everything else is much better.

And at GFC there are 2 great steaks on the menu, a ribeye and a strip. We had 5 amongst us in Sept and all were wonderful. And GFC is one dining credit. Most one credit places have a steak on the menu, but most are flatiron steaks, not all that great.
