Best steak restaurant

I agree, hands down, Chrley's on I-Drive. I think there is also a second location although I am not sure where and I have never been to the other location.

Charley's is great and can also recommend Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on West Sand Lake Road and The Butcher Shop at Mercado.

aye butchers shop at mercado is pretty good. where in I-Drive is charleys?

Charley's is in Goodings Plaza which is next door to the Mercado.

Is Charleys still open, I new about that restaurant but when I tried to find it I found a link saying that it had closed down. I was there in June and it was open but did not eat there. Does anyone know if it is still open. we will be there from 23rd September.....Nice.!

We went to Mortons a few years back and it was excellent! Don't know if its still there though:teeth:

We like the Outback Steakhouse (various locations). Never had a bad meal here. Wouldnt mind trying Charleys though, if its still around....sounds good!

Worth trying are Don Shula's in the Swan/Dolphin and The Outback restaurant ( NOT THE CHAIN) in the Wyndham Palace resort near DTD. Both are on Disney property, but I'm never sure if they are considered "onsite" or off.
I've eaten at a Ruth's Chris ( but not in Orlando) and thought they were an excellent steak house.
There are a couple of great Tepanyaki restaurants around. My favourite is Benehana's at the Hilton (DTD)

Does depend a little on how much you want to spend.

Edited to add Key W Kools, Deb reminded me of that one and Jana and I had some EXCELLENT steaks there last trip.

We love Ruth's Chris on Sand Lake Road, the Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Palms and The Palm at Hard Rock Hotel. Shula's (Dolphin) and Del Frisco (Lee Road) are supposed to be even better, although we've yet to make it to either (they're on the 'maybe' list most trips). However, these are all upmarket (read, expensive) steakhouses. We were taken to Key W Kools (west 192) in July. This is somewhere we'd never have ventured of our own volition, but it was very acceptable. I really didn't like the Outback Steakhouse (the chain) when we tried it a couple of years ago. To me it was the sort of standard you'd expect in the UK, and frankly, I expect so much more in the States.

Charley's was open in late June when we were there. We ate there and it is still great.

I cant rate Houlihans (on I-Drive opposte Pointe Orlando) highly enough.Excellent place to eat.

The in house menu is more extensive than on there web site.

We had a really nice steak at Logans which is on the 192.

You also get free peanuts that once you have shelled them you throw the discardedshells on the floor - great atmosphere!

Good food as well

Tried various places and the stand out was Charley's on the 192. Superb steak, not overly expensive, great wine list, even the veg was excellent.

(Going again in December, salvitating at the thought of it!)

Hi

Had a great meal with a family of nine at the Longhorn Steakhouse on the 192 (around marker 9) a few weeks ago. Excellent steaks, excellent service, and as British visitors, we were in the minority to a lot of Americans dining there.

Yeah, my vote goes for Charley's too. I'm actually not a great lover of steak, but for Charley's I make an exception ! Their pork chops are to die for too, sometimes wayover an inch thick but always as tender and juicy as can be.

In terms of quality, both locations, on I-Drive and 192 are great, but if you want to avoid the crowds/a longish wait for a table, the 192 location - just about opposite the turning for Celebration - is the better bet.

Another place worth thinking about if you are staying along the 192 is Key W. Kools, about 4 or 5 miles west on 192 from the junction with I-4. Again, very good food and not at all expensive. Look out for the sign with the blue parrot , on your right as you go west on 192, about a 1/4 mile before the Splendid China turn off.

Looking at your avatars (or whatever they're called)
you would certainly get on with my eldest boy Luke
He has seen all of the bands on your message.

BTW Big vote for Charleys here too.
