Best Star Wars Fireworks viewing spot?

Going to be in Hollywood Studios first week in May. Will they still be having the fireworks then. Anyone know the last date for this?
DHS will be switching from Symphony in the Stars fireworks show to a new updated show with images projected on the Chinese Theater. No one knows when this new show begins and SitS is scheduled to run through at least April 19th or so.

Hopefully it switches to the new show before your trip or SitS remains until the new fireworks show begins.

Best and least crowded spot, between A and B on Robo's map

So, my son is 11 but seems to have a tough time with fireworks. He wants to try to see this show, since he's a huge Star Wars fan, but so far we haven't been able to make it through Illuminations without a freak out and hasty departure. He seems to do a little better with Wishes, although usually we've watched from a more distant location.

That spot sounds good if it's less crowded, but not sure if it might be too loud? Would I be better off closer to the exit? or on the pathway outside the gate? You can still see from those spots, yes? Can you still hear the music outside the gate? He wants to try Fantasmic too, but not sure how we'll do trying to do both...sorry for all the questions, but any suggestions would be helpful!

The Echo Lake area is loud. You can hear and feel the explosions. It's very immersive from that location and it can get crowded.

We recently stayed at CSR in a building facing DHS and the noise from the fireworks was quite loud. We could also hear Fantasmic's music and pyro from inside our room.

You won't hear the music along the pathway to Boardwalk. Some report that you can hear the music outside of the gates. The soundtrack and dialog are major components of the fireworks show.

Have you tried noise-canceling ear plugs or headphones?

I tried ear plugs at some point along the way, but probably not for a while. Definitely worth another try now that he's older - thanks for the suggestion! I think it's the "feel" as well as the sound. Maybe we'll try closer toward the gates and if it's still too much, work our way further out. My DH and I are doing a date night the night before we plan to do it with the kids, so I'm hoping we can make it over both to preview it for him, and to enjoy it without worrying about him! I have my doubts about Fantasmic! with him, but we'll probably give it a shot - thanks for your advice!

If one were staying at Yacht Club but had mobility issues and could not make it to the ideal outside the park viewing area, what area around the Yacht Club would be best for viewing the HS fireworks?

Some have said they had a view from the Beach Club beach area.

If you are in Epcot at around the time of the DHS fireworks, they can be seen from the World Showcase.

Did Disney change the end date? As of the other day when I looked the media calendar they put out and it still had SitS fireworks listed until April 30. If not my son will be so disappointed-he is so looking forward to the Star wars fireworks. We actually arrive that day and planned to make a special trip to DHS to see them since they aren't currently listed for May at all.

That was my "or so" because I wasn't sure of the extension for SitS with the new projection and fireworks show set to begin May 27.

The SW stage show begins April 4th.

The last day that they are listed as of today is April 30th at 9:45 pm.

You often seem to be "in the know" so I was hoping you didn't know something that wasn't posted

Thanks and sorry to alarm you. I now realize I'm not that in the know at 5am my time... I should have just gone to the gym. ;)

@yulilin3 is keeping everything posted and updated in the SW thread.

We watched the fireworks from the pathway between DHS and the bridge near the Boardwalk and had a great view - a wonderful view in fact. We could hear the music, too. This would be the least intense fireworks experience for your son. If you want to be inside DHS then you can get a very good view right by the Crossroads signpost, near the exit. We have watched fireworks from there several times and it is a good spot and you can duck out fast. The third place we have seen the fireworks is near Echo Lake, but that was very intense.

We were staying at the Beach Club last month and had a very nice view from the beach where they show the movie. The firworks went off over the Boardwalk resort, so it wasn't the best view and you couldn't hear the music, but it was very pretty. :) You might also be able to see them from right in front of the YC by the sidewalk that leads to the main door.
