We seen both during our trip at different spots, I was wondering, what is your favorite spot for both? We didn't have the best spots for Illuminations both times we seen that but we enjoyed our Wishes spots. (To the left of the Walt statue and slightly in front of the Walt statue...we wanna try Main Street next time.)

What's your favorite spot for Wishes or Illuminations?

My favorite spot for Wishes is along Main Street. We sit on the right hand side as you are looking at the Castle, about half way down.

My favorite spot for Illuminations is between Mexico and Norway. I like to grab a nice frosty beverage, and stand at the rail. Wish I was at Epcot right now. :drinking1

The best place for Illuminations is either at Rose and Crown - dining on the patio - or, right next to it, in a depressed area with benches overlooking the lagoon. But, please, don't tell anyone!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I will only disclose this information to relatives or friends I am at the parks with. I will not publish it since that will make too many people know and make those areas overcrowded.

The best place for wishes that we've ever had is the bridge to tomorrowland.Tinkerbell flies directly over head, its far less crowded than Main Street, and the view of the castle is awesome. There are speakers along the walkway, so the audio is great as well.
I haven't seen Illuminations in a long time, but we enjoyed the view from the back side of the cantina across from Mexico tremendously.Get there early, have a beer and relax, watch the sunset from the patio, and see the whole show with a great view of the lagoon

After years of watching from the edges, I've recently switched over to going with the hordes and watching these shows from their most popular vantage points. There's a reason everyone wants to be at the foot of the World Showcase lagoon for Illuminations, and in front of the Castle for Wishes! They are the best spots!

I don't find the crowds bothersome. You can see everything just fine no matter how many people are in front of you.

Beats standing behind trees trying to get a less crowded area to watch from, and for both shows there are effects that are best viewed show center, as the Imagineers intended them to be seen.

Agreed. For me personally, there's no reason to get to the front row at Illuminations.

Then maybe you shouldn't of posted to make us all yen.............

I agree with the poster who said the bridge into tomorrowland. We sat at that bench last night & it was wonderful.

We have a favorite bench in front of the castle that we enjoy watching Wishes from.

Illuminations I have only seen from the cruise. I know this is off topic but I am not extremely familiar with Epcot, can someone please tell me what bridge the boats park under for the Illuminations cruise? I don't have my bearings and not sure where we were.

Thanks!

and for that matter, how early do you have to get to these spots to get the good views?

You are under the bridge at International Gateway, between UK and France.

Kevin, certainly depends on crowd levels, could be an hour or so, down to as little as a few minutes. It really varies by the day.

Best place for Wishes is directly in front of the entrance to the Crystal Palace.

For Illuminations, assuming the cruise is not an option, the bridge by the International Gateway is terrific, with close proximity to the Rose and Crown :thumbsup2

For wishes i love the point in the tracks at the end of main street, right before you get to the center (crowds can be an issue but love the straight on view...

For illuminations it depends on the wind (we hate to get smoked out)...but in-between Mexico and Norway is a clear view/also if the fire marshal clears it very front and center ....
Holiday fireworks...if you stand almost in front of china, before you get to the island you can line up the two firework cages and the show looks doubled on itself....so spiffy
