Best Souvenir!

With our last 2 trips, we bought a bunch of souveniers....the thing that we enjoy the most from both trips are the Disney photo albums with the year on them.

When one of the kids asks to see the pictures from Disney, you know what album to grab and what year they are....they are relatively inexpensive (around $20.00).

I agree. Our photo album from Disney is the one thing we brought home that we get out all of the time. I'll be getting another this year and a Disney scrapbook kit too!

I can't wait...I can't wait....I can't wait!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

You know, its funny, I'm a huge picture taker and the first thing I do is develop my pics when I get home. For some reason, the Disney albums didn't do anything for me. I can't remember, is the inside pages magnetic or slip ins? If they are magnetic, that is why I didn't purchase them...I'll have to take a closer look this trip in January because that is right up my alley.
WeluvBuzz...did you teach yourself how to scrapbook? I'd love to get into this, but have no idea how to start. I really don't want to take a class, but I wonder if that is how everyone learns.

There's a great Scrapbook Store at DTD near RainForest Cafe...I started scraping by watching QVC when they have their hobby days. They have the newest products at great prices. Then I started going to local stores and just kept going...WARNING IT'S ADDICTIVE.

My favorite souvenier would be my 14kt gold charms I try to buy one each trip. LOVE THEM.

For those of you who were interested in scrapbooking but had no idea where to start, Two Peas in A Bucket is a great place to start. Check out the Peanut Gallery and the Message Boards to start.

Yes, I taught myself to scrapbook and it's a lot of fun!! I saw a Disney Vacation scrapbooking kit last year when I was there. They had it at several of the big stores near the photoalbums. I passed last year, but after seeing how many things I brought home, I know I could fill a scrapbook easily!

Jillpie, the photoalbum I have is one with the slip in pages. I don't like the magnetic either. It holds all 4 rolls of pics I took and my boys look through it almost every day. They just love to look at all their pictures and remember the vacation. Out of all of my photoalbums, it has held up perfectly too! I'm very pleased with it and will get another this year.

I've seen the scrapbooking materials at quite a few WDW shops now and at the resorts too. I bought quite a few things at AKL's shop last Feb. and also at the Emporium in MK.

I also get the Disney photo albums to place our pictures in. They are the slip-in kind and most have space under the picture or to the side to write captions.

We also like to get a photo album every year! Other must haves are: magnets that you can put a picture in--preferably with the date on it, Christmas ornaments and coffee mugs!

March, 2001 - The hand draw Mickey from the artist on the animation tour. We stuck around when the crowd moved on and asked for her autograph. She did us one better. We left the tour in hot pursuit of a picture frame.

September, 2002 - The pictures of me with Mickey Mouse that were given to us at Studio M when I met Mickey for the first time. Yes, I cried. Sometimes, I'm such a girl. lol

As far as the stuff we actually spent money on, I have to say my favorite thing ever was finding the Mickey and the Firefighter figurine at the Main Street Gallery last year. I love it! Maggie

WeluvBuzz, so do you scrapbook in the Disney albums themselves somehow or do you create another book to scrapbook all the Disney pics? I hope that just made sense. I really would love to start and maybe buy the scrapbook stuff there, but not sure how it all works with the Disney photo album. Forgive my ignorance. :D

Jillpie,

The photo album and the scrapbook are two seperate projects. I get the photo album just for the Disney vacation photos. Now, this year, I'm also getting one of the Disney scrapbooks. The ones I saw last year were whole kits, so they had the book, pages, and some background/decorative papers aswell. I will use that to create a scrapbook of our vacation. You can display all kinds of things in there....tickets, souveniers, napkins from restaurants, pins, stickers, pixie dust, photos, etc.. I think it will really make a nice keepsake for my kids to look back at and remember their vacation. And, lets face it, for all the money we spend on Disney vacations, the kids need something to remind them!!! :hyper: I hope that makes more sense.

We have been to WDW many times since 1977 -- & have returned with many souveniors.
I think that the best 'souvenior' is from our son's visit when he surprised his wife with their 'spring break vacation'.
The souvenior was our 'grandson'!!;) ::MickeyMo

I little tiny pair of Mickey ears like the hats but smaller...It's supposed to be a Christmas decoration but I have it hanging in my car and I think of WDW everytime I look at it.

Also there are these hairclips I got at an outlet mall that have Mickey ears on them...I made up a whole new do with these and wear them all the time...They were the best .25 each I have ever spent...

I have lots of Disney World stuff that I love.
Mickey watch
Mickey earrings
Mickey necklace
Mickey toaster
Mickey waffle maker
lots of t- shirts & sweatshirts, socks & undies
WDW night shirt
I love having my coffee in my WDW coffee mugs
WDW poster (four parks one world)
antenna toppers
the little character thingys with suction cups that you can hang on windows
my monorail
pencil holder of the castle with a wind up monrail that go's around it and plays music
my stuffed characters (Mickey, minnie, donald, goofy, pooh, tigger
spaceship earth picture frame
wdw car tags (like license plates that gos on front of my car)
throw with castle on it that says wdw
stuffed mickey cell phone holder
lots of magnets
whew, thats all I can think of right now! ::MickeyMo Linda

My favourite things to bring back are christmas orniments (with the year on) and tops to wear back home from the different parks (I bought 5 last visit!)

Love the very bargain friendly finds from the disney outlet stores. 6.99 sweatshirt from 2003, purchased oct 03', small snow white snowglobe, dixie landings glass and pin.(after name change, but I still think of it as that name:D )
I also have 2 disney photo albums, slip in photo pages, the front cover is glass, so I use them like frames. My daughter purchased the first one during 100 yrs of magic, honestly I don't think I would have bought it myself, but I love it. Second one was from my most recent trip "four parks:earsboy: one world", we were using only one day of our parkhopper tickets-tried to get to four parks-one day, but the 90+ weather and size of our group made this too hard. We did get to AK, MK, and MGM:crazy:
One last thought, for all you scrapbook fanatics, if you have any leftover stickers from WDW I have a suggested use. I bought 3M luggage tags-you can customize them with your stickers, the plastic protects the sticker. I used my computer to print address label then added stickers from the person's favorite park. Great little gift, very inexpensive and fun.

The best WDW souvenir we ever bought is my Minnie Mouse backscratcher! She stands in the corner by my vanity mirror, and I use her every day!

Carolyn..... Do you recall the price of the back scratcher? I was thinking of getting these also...

Thanks!
