Best site/place to buy an AP? Edited: Can I BUY AN AP AT ANY PARK?

I know this probably belongs on another board, so if it is totally out of place here, please feel free to move it. I usually only frequent the CB, so that's why I posted here..

I am thinking of buying an Annual Pass this year to take advantage of the resort discount, if they ever come out for October. Which website or store is the best place to buy it? I understand that in the mail I would receive a voucher and would have to validate it at a park or the DS at the Earport. Would it be best just to wait and purchase it directly from the Earport store or the visitors center at Downtown Disney? I guess they don't discount them anywhere, so I would be looking for a site with a good reputation or the store to save on shipping.

Any suggestions?? Thanks..

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can buy them any other place then through Disney. You can buy them in the Stores, and you will receive a voucher to redeem in the parks on your first visit. Or, you can buy them at any parks Guest Services. I don't believe there are any discounts, unless you happen to be a Fl. Resident. But again, I could be wrong....

There are military discounts available if you're eligible......

Other than that, no discounts that I'm aware of. So buy in the store if you believe in pre-paying, or buy when you get there if you wait until you're there

Thanks for the responses, Brisully and kataden. I really didn't expect a discount (I am not in the military). Another question..Can I buy an AP at ANY park?

We are arriving in Orlando at 8:30 am, so we are going to go directly to Typhoon Lagoon. Can I buy an AP there?

The water parks have their own annual passes, or you can buy a Premiere Annual Pass that includes the 4 parks plus water and others (I believe) but I think you have to go to Guest Services at one of the theme parks to buy those, I don't recall being able to buy one at our hotel when we tried. I'm also not sure the water parks are set up to sell that type of admission either?

We have always purchased ours at the airport. You get the actual pass there, not a voucher. I haven't been for a couple of years though, you might want to check whether or not they are still available.

I just looked it up and was about to tell you to see http://allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm, but Dan beat me to it . It looks like you can at least buy them at guest relations at DTD or West Side, but I don't know what time they open . I can't tell if you can buy regular or premium APs at the water parks or not.

Thanks Dan!! This site told me exactly what I wanted to know, in terms that even I can understand!

It looks like for my situation, I can make my WL ressie (assuming they EVER come out with October rates), wait until we arrive at MCO, go to the Earport store and purchase an activated AP. If I forget to go there (don't laugh, it's entirely possible!), I can still stop at DD and buy an activated pass at Guest Relations before we check in. This way, I don't have to keep up with a voucher..

we bought our Premium Annual Passes there....Disney store and they were not vouchers ..but regular passes....we also got our annual passholders discount at the resort when we checked in........hope this helps
