My husband and I are going to be in the world in September. We are looking for a second signature place and I cant decide on which one! We are already going to Narcoossee's. Any suggestions???

I think we are going to try the California Grill. However, we have never been there either.

YACHTSMAN!!! Steaks cut like butter!!! YUMMMMMMMMM! We are less adventurous eaters over here, but CG just didn't really do it for me last time. If you do CG, turn on the charm for a window seat...the view is wonderful!

What kind of food do you like.

Artist point has some great stuff. Cali Grill has really good sushi. I love everything about Jiko. The only signature we haven't tried yet is Citricos which we will be doing the next trip. There haven't been any I thought were horrible. Flying fish is probably my least fave, but it could've been an off night. Certain parts of the dinner there were really good, yet others were just off.
Narcoossess is our new fave after last yr.

I gotta give a hearty recommendation to either Jiko (because I want to go there), or Artist Point (because it's the best signature I've been to so far).

Seriously, the mushroom soup and buffalo steak at AP just hit the spot. It was exactly the kind of comfort food I needed on the last day of my vacation.

Plus, the vanilla flavored Grand Mariner Navan I had with my coffee flavored dessert was just awesome!

Hope you have a great dinner!

I'd go for Artist's Point or Flying Fish...as those are the only 2 I've been to but loved both dearly.

At Artist's Point I had the buffalo strip loin, cooked perfectly medium rare and the sides that typically come with the salmon, which were roasted marble potatoes (think multicolor mini fingerlings) and pinot noir beurre rogue. I love buffalo in general, but with that sauce on? OMG. I was smearing my meat in it, my potatoes in it, I asked for more bread so I could soak up every little drop. I don't eat salmon so I don't know how well that sauce goes with it (I'd imagine good) but it pairs perfectly with the buffalo as well. I would have poured it over ice cream it was so good. My friend also got the buffalo but had the sides that came with it, which were Black Diamond chedder Mac and Cheese and apple cider glazed brussels sprouts. She liked the Mac and Cheese but it had bacon in it and when I tasted it all I got was bacon flavor, and she loved the brussels sprouts and kept dipping them in my beloved sauce. She had the berry cobbler for dessert and I had the caramel apple torte. Both were awesome as they finally switched back to house made ice cream, which is the creamiest, smoothest, most flavorful ice creams I've ever had. Sometimes you'll read about crappy service on here, but I didn't find that at all, if anything the server was just a tad too attentive. I hate when they ask you how everything is before you can even take a bite. There was also really great dense sourdough butter to start off with butter that had a little bit of black sea salt on it. The bread was hot and the butter was soft, and the salt added just a little bit of mineral-y-ness. It was great.

We also went to Flying Fish, which was a first for me. Super cute themeing here, whimsical but not in your face. Again we started with the bread, which was a fluffy but not light wheat bread, and really for me as long as bread comes out hot I'm a fan. I went for the steak and potatoes, and again got a perfectly cooked steak and it was quite big. I ran into big steaks at most places I got it, and part of me thinks they're compensating for not having filet on most menus now. Either way, it was tender and juicy and fantastic. The potatoes were great as well, and it came with sauce Foyot but luckily they put in on the side because I didn't care for it. My friend got the potato wrapped red snapper, and honestly I can't remember what else came with it but I know she ate most of it and really enjoyed it. She said it was subtly flavorful and the fish was moist and the potatoes crispy. For dessert, she went for the trio which had a white chocolate almond creme brulee with an cranberry orange biscotti, a flourless chocolate torta, and chocolate bread pudding with dried cherries. I tried the creme brulee and that was amazing. I had the tequila-key lime "margarita" pie. Nice big serving which kind of surprised me, the pie was nice and creamy, it had these little swirls of sauce on the plate and they were full of tequila. The garnish was a salted lime slice and what I THOUGHT was chocolate shaving on a strawberry half....it wasn't chocolate, I found out the hard way it was big pieces of black salt. I just wasn't expecting salt on a strawberry so I'm sure my reaction was funny to watch.

Both were amazing meals though, and I'd recommend either. I'd say look at the menus and see what appeals to you. We were on the dining plan and used 2 TS credits on each meal, and didn't defer from what was included with the plan (no apps, no alcoholic drinks) just the meal and dessert and soft drinks, and they were both about $110 meals. Something to keep in mind if budget is an issue. Truthfully, a lot of the 1 credit TS meals we were having were around $80 anyway and if I were paying out of pocket I'd definitely still consider going to the signatures. Some people consider it a bad use of credits but that's up to them, I find them well worth it.

Flying Fish is our traditional favorite, especially with California Grill being a little hit-or-miss lately. We haven't been in awhile, but will almost certainly include it in our December trip plans.

Jiko's has been highly recommended. We are planning to dine there on our next trip. :)

Totally agree! Yachtsman is excellent!
I am excited to try Narcoosees and Jiko in our March Weddig celebration, we have heard great things! :goodvibes

Are you on any of the dining plans? If not, bluezoo and Shula's at the Dolphin blow all the other signatures out of the water IMO. We haven't been to V&A's yet, but I am sure that they are above and beyond any other restuarant on property.

If you are using dining plan credits (not worth it if on the DDP, but ok if on the DxDP), we find that Citricos, FF, AP and Jiko are very good.

V&A nothing else in the same league remotely

Wolfgang Pucks upstairs,Jiko,AP,Bistro,Il Mulino,Bluezoo,Shulas are pretty even then everything else

If you're stuck with DP considerations, then Flying Fish or Citrico's.
If not, then Shula's or Blue Zoo.

Jiko is the only signature restaurant I've eaten at, but it was one of the best meals I've had. Highly recommended!

Plus, I love the location at th AKL.

My fav signature is Citricos.
After that I would highly recommend Jiko and Flying Fish.

For signatures on the dining plan.... we like Flying Fish Cafe the best. We like seafood and our appetizers and entrees were very, very, very good. And we also enjoyed the boardwalk entertainers outside the restaurant. We like to order seafood so the menu was perfect for us. The mussels appetizer was heavenly, our tuna and red snapper entrees were excellent. Crab cake was best in WDW. And it's just a short walk from Epcot.

We have been to Brown Derby, California Grill, Citricos, Narcoosees, and Jiko. All were pretty good, but for seafood I'd pick Flying Fish or California Grill. Citricos was darn good too.

Narcoosees, Jiko and Brown Derby were all about the same to me. Good food, good service, nothing so special that blew me out of the water.... but still a very nice dining experience.

Narcoosee's has always been our favorite, I know you mentioned that you are going there, so I am sure you will enjoy it! :thumbsup2

Flying Fish Cafe is our second favorite, and I might add, that from our last trip this past August, it did surpass our dinner at Narcoosee's!! I love their Potato Wrapped Red Snapper, and my DH loves their Char Crusted NY Strip, which I tasted, and it is certainly out of this world!

Our third pick is Yachtsman Steakhouse. We have only been there twice, but had such a good meal and dining experience, that I can't wait to go back!

The only signature we have not tried yet is Citricos, and I see so many wonderful reviews regarding it. It is not on our list for our upcoming trip in May, but I am vowing to make sure it will be on our next list!

On our most recent trip, we tried every signature except AP (and V&A, which I guess is something more than a signature), and we would recommend Flying Fish, then either Yachtsman or Jiko. None of our experiences were bad, though.
