My husband and I are going on our 2nd Disney Cruise in October. We've picked excursions for Castaway Cay and St. Thomas, but are having a hard time picking one for St. Maarten. Any suggestions or comments on what to or not to go on would be appreciated. Thanks.

We did the under 2 flags island tour, at least I think that was th ename of it. Our guide was not very good, you could not understand anything he said most of the time. They do narrate about the area you see, but between his accent and the poor quality of his microphone it was hopeless.
WE did see a lot of the island on this tour, the bus was comfortable and air conditioned. The 3 scenic stops we had were nice, but most of the island is very dirty and run down. I'm not knocking these people, I know they are very low income, just wanted you to know that part of this tour is very depressing to see. I'm glad we did it the first time as we did get a real feel for the culture there, but we didnt repeat it when we went back again. We just explored the shops near the docks. Our daughter took her family to the butterfly farm and it was very nice, the kids loved it, and they went on most of the same roads as we did and they did the same shopping stop as us.
What ever you decide, be sure and take your own bottled water as you'll not find water fountains anywhere since fresh water is an expensive item, it is in big demand there. Not much of it. Beer was really cheap, much less than water, or so we were told by our guide. There are some great buys on both islands. If you shop remember that the only free bathrooms are in the casinos, the public restrooms will charge you to use them. There is a free rest stop on every tour, but if you go on your own you will have to pay unless you find a casino. Take a couple of $1 with you just in case.

We have taken 2 Magic cruises both Eastern. So the first time we did the Golden Eagle Catamaran. This is a great snorkling tour. The sail over to the island off the French side is wonderful! The snorkling is nice. It was a very nice time! This tour we will do again!
The other was the Orient Beach tour. Lots of beach time!!! We love the beach so this is a great time for beach lovers. There is lots of people selling stuff on the beach but with a quick no thanks they are off.

Hope this helps!
Enjoy!!!

We did the 2 flags tour many years ago, and enjoyed it.
It was sold out on our DCL, so we did something we never would have done otherwise, the 12 Metre Regetta. It was awesome. My kids, who were 12 and 16 at the time, loved it.

Thanks to those who have provided info.

I'm sure there are others of you who have some insight about St. Maarten, any suggestions???????
