Best shoes?

I think my New Balance feel like bedroom slippers, even after a full day at the parks.

I think shoes are so personal, that everybody is going to have a different favorite. You have to find what is best for you, so do walk around in them in your house and see waht you enjoy.

I personally love Nike and Reebok. I've tried Adidas, New Balance (currently own a pair) and Asics, but dont like these brands at all. Dont fit right and my feet feel real tired after a day of walking.

If you can, aim to buy the "walking" shoes instead of "tennis" or "running". They are designed better for.. well, walking. :)

I'm flat footed and I like K-Swiss for walking shoes. I wore brand new ones to WDW in June and didn't get a blister.
I love Keen shoes. They are the best ever. I have some now that feel like sneakers but they are brown leather. Keen sandals are great for summer.
Just thought I'd throw out some new brands.

It is nice to get opinions about this. But the only one that counts is what your own feet tell you. Try on several different brands of shoes in the store and go with the ones that feel best on your feet.

Bring two pair of well broken-in shoes with you on your WDW trip. That way if one gets wet you can wear the other pair while the first ones dry out. Its also a good idea to alternate pairs - it evens out the wear and allows the shoe to dry-out from the moisture they absorb from your feet.

I don't wear anything but SAS - sandals, walking shoes, moccasins, you name it. Never had to break them in - they fit your feet like gloves. Only trouble is, they're expensive and hard to find.

I use Kangaroos. They are a bit pricey, about $50 + a pair, but they are super comfy. They also last through rain. I used mine during Aug/Sept when its always raining in the afternoon. I walked through many puddles, and I still use them for school. They still look pretty knew too. They come in funky colors, but they might be more for teenagers than adults. They go to size 10's, which is what I have. My feet are usually big, and I can usually barely fit into a 10, but I fit perfectly in Roos. I got mine at Journeys, but I saw them at JC Penny's and other department stores.

Sketchers are also a good brand. They hold up good. I've used many pairs of Sketchers during elementary school.

I absolutely love my Brooks! I had never even heard of them until my sister took me to the outlet store near Woodinville Washington. They are super light, with a mesh upper so they are cool.

Here's the website.

I'm also purchasing a pair of crocs.

My whole family, theme park commandos all, stays well away from sneakers in parks. In summer we wear supportive sports sandals, and in winter we wear hiking shoes.

My personal favorites are Merrells, either my sandals or my jungle mocs. Either way, getting them wet isn't a problem, because they don't get soggy.

DH is a huge Keens fan; he doesn't like open-toed sandals, and Keens fit the bill perfectly for him.

I am now on my 4th pair of Asics 2100. I have flat feet and plantar fasciatus (sp?) and these came highly recommended by my physical thearapist. I usually end up wearing them most of the day even with my dress clothes as my feet feel great. I also have a pair of arch supports that go in these as well.

My advice, after getting back from a week in October: bring your oldest, rattiest pair of gym shoes! I brought my gym shoes (the ones I wear about 4 times a week on the treadmill), thinking they were very well broken in. Well, they weren't! I got a terrible blister on the bottom of my toe before I realized it. Ended up in flip-flops for the rest of the trip - they were the only shoes that didn't aggravate my blister.

Wish I had brought my oldest, crummiest gym shoes and worn them instead (who cares what your feet look like?). Walking 10 or 12 hours a day is very different than doing a light gym workout, even if you work out most days.

Here is what not to wear.

I wore my most broken-in shoes that NEVER give me blisters (they are SAS). I got one this time, but not because of the shoes - it was because my SOCK had a little fold under the toe and irritated it. I did not really feel it until it was too late. So be careful of your socks, too.

Are Crocs really comfortable for long periods? They're so ... so ... rubbery looking. ;)

I think any running shoes will do! Oh, but no cheap shoes....... example:Nike chocks!

I wore my brand new Merrells around for a week at WDW and didn't have 1 blister! I  Merrell!!! (My Nike Shox are pretty good too!)

I wore them all day, and they were perfectly comfortable, with or without socks.
I am one of those people who ALWAYS is complaining about foot pain at Disney. I've spent hundreds buying every shoe ever mentioned on this site. This trip was the only trip I've ever had with *no foot pain* - glorious! Best trip ever, to no small extent because of the Crocs :)
