I am just wondering for those of you who have been to Disney a bunch what shoes you reccommend for adults and kids? I have a 5 and 7 year old - was thinking about taking tennis shoes and crocs - and just wondered what you experts thought? :) Thanks!!!

Tennies and crocs is all I ever take for my guys. And we tend to use mostly just the crocs.

We take the same things and tend to use the sneakers more than the crocs. My DS tends to blister easily and hates moleskin. :)

I take tennis shoes, crocs, and a slide on sandal of some sort.

I have heard though of some people who have gotten blisters from their crocs. For those that do wear crocs the majority of the time, how do you keep from getting blisters?

Moleskin works well. Just cover the hot spot. My DS doesn't like the feeling as it sticks to your skin and is kind of thick to keep the shoe from rubbing on the skin.

Whatever shoe fits the foot really well and is well broken in prior to the trip!

Find good shoes that the wearer likes and get walking. The more miles you can log walking outdoors on concrete before your trip, the happier your feet will be. I personally prefer Keens and mine are well broken in but since I don't wear sandals in the winter here in Iowa, I still need to make an effort to dig them out and get my feet used to walking in them again before our annual spring Disney trips.

My other suggestion is to actually bring two pairs of shoes that you love. Rotate shoes at the very first sign of any problem, blisters, achy feet or legs. Or just rotate every other day even if all is well.

Crocs, Crocs, Crocs. We all wore them. My hubby wore sneakers one day and regreted it so bad. The adults had the cooler flip flop ones. I don't love the look of crocks!

I bring Crocs, Teva sport sandals, and flip flops. I did bring a nice pair of leather sandals last summer but it kept POURING rain and they weren't the type of shoe that could stand up to being saturated so I gave up!

DS prefers to wear sneakers with socks, even in the heat. We bought him a pair of Ecco sandals that he really liked so he wore those part of the time. They did get very, very stinky though. He has Crocs but they are not his favorite. He tries to avoid wearing them.

DH wears Crocs, leather Rockport sandals (but there again, not good in the rain), or sneakers.

We all use Band Aid Blister Stick to keep the Crocs from rubbing our feet raw. It is hard to find, but some CVS stores carry it. I bought a BUNCH of sticks when I realized they were discontinued. I think Body Glide would work the same way, but everywhere we looked last summer was sold out!

Tennis shoes for our family (DH, me, DS6 and DS2). The boys wear crocs sometimes at home but they don't provide as much support (or stay on as well) as good-fitting tennis shoes.

As for achy legs/feet, since I got a new pair of insoles for my New Balance shoes that fit my high arches better, I have had ZERO aches on two trips to WDW!

I bought a pair of Keen Newport H2 sandals for my last trip and looooooved them.

They are comfortable closed toe sandals so your feet can breathe but also be protected. They are waterproof, and actually look very good! (I'm not the croc type)

They make them for kids too but can be a bit pricey for a child who will grow out of them so quickly.

p.s. It may look so, but I'm not related to Colinsmom. LOL.

We all take Crocs (not the original style ones, the kids have sandals and DH and I have flip flops ;)) and tennis shoes, but the tennis shoes get worn more. I can't say enough about Dunlop Volleys, but I don't think they sell them in the States, so whenever we visit Australia I have to stock up.

I always were my Yellow Box flip flops, even in December. My husband and son always wear their New Balance tennis shoes. Our girls wear flip flops in warmer weather and their tennis shoes in cooler weather. We are not a Croc family. They always seem to rub blisters on our kids feet.

My girls will only wear their crocs or flip flops in the warmer weather..so that is all we take for them..for my its my north face flip flops or crocs flip flops..same for my DH..especially sice we tend to go the last week od August..so sneakers dont go well with heavy downpours..lol

I'd look at Crocs and tennis shoes, unless you have some other shoes or sandals that you are crazy about. (I have a pair of Dansko sandals that I find more comfortable than my NB walking shoes.)

And bring Body Glide! It is great for avoiding blisters and easier than moleskin (although I'd still use the moleskin with a hole after I have a blister). Body Glide can be found at running stores, Dick's sporting goods, drugstore.com...

new balanace sneakers with socks. Flipflops do not give you the support you need for the amount of walking and standing.

Bring 2 pairs of well broken in shoes that the wearer loves and rotate them. On our first trip last Oct. we all wore tennis shoes the whole time and we all had sore legs/feet. When we went in June I had everyone change out their shoes when we went back to the hotel for our break, or the next day if we didn't have a break, and no one had sore feet/legs :thumbsup2.

I wore my comfiest sneakers last time, and even by the end of the first day I had blisters. I bought crocs on my last day, and they were a life saver.

When I go in February, I'm planning on bringing sneakers & my crocs.

The crocs will also make it MUCH easier to go through security at the airport with my DD!
