Curious...
So far we've stayed at BCV, VWL, BWV and now OKW. IMO the level of service from best to worst has been -
BWV, VWL, and BCV and OKW at a tie for not so superb service.
(I just posted a trip report about our recent OKW stay, which wasn't too good.)
I found BWV staff to be top notch.
Thought I'd post a poll to see others opinions.
I'm curious about your feelings regarding the staff and level of service, not taking into account other areas of the resorts.

I've only stayed at BWV (our home) and VB so I didn't vote. Even though I've always been very pleased with the service at BWV, I have to admit that the CMs at VB are truly exceptional. If you'd included VB in the poll, I'd have to vote for VB!

Since I can't vote, thought I'd at least bump this up for you, though!

Best wishes -

I've stayed at almost every resort on property and have not observed an appreciable difference in service. There have been the expected designed in differences between value, moderate and deluxe groups. There are also differences between regular and concierge service, but again those were expected. DVC has been consistent with that experience.

We have stayed at all the resorts (with the exception of SSR) and have never really thought about the level of service from the CMs. We dont require much... check in, maybe buy something at the store... but that's it. We even refuse trash and towel service. Now HHI's CMs are wonderful... We do a lot of in resort activities and are interacting with them daily.

Shan... I think you have gotten the short end on a couple of your trips... but just remember that, your trips are the exceptions to the rule. (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Laura, I promise I'm not too hard to please! ;) I usually have very little if any requests and I consider it a bonus if we get a room in a location we might have liked to have.
But... you are right! It is just that when we stayed at BWV last June it really stuck out. Check in totally felt first class all the way. From valet all the way up to our room. We did not experience anything close at BCV or OKW. VWL was not overly impressive to me at check in (a matter of fact very removed), but that lobby makes up for ~almost~ anything! ;)

BWV staff tend to be slightly more chipper, more professional and generally more visible and available in our experience

Cheers

Honestly, we've seen very consistent customer service across all of the resorts we've stayed at, including DVC, deluxe and moderate resorts.

This is a guess...but don't all of the resorts follow the same standards, and procedures, and training? Is there not some common management structure for housekeeping, front-desk, etc, across all of the WDW resorts?

I have never had a bad experience, although our stay at BWV was "interesting" (leaky water pipe, wet carpets, maid knocking at the door in the middle of the night to deliver crib sheets - no babies here, thank goodness....) I would not classify it as bad service.

Well, it would certainly be boring (and hard to get in) if everyone liked the same resort! To each his own...

Well, anyway.................

OKW has the highest percentage so far so that makes me feel better about our upcoming trip there. Maybe our visit was just a fluke!

Thanks to those who voted! :)

We have stayed at BWV & VWL. We have been very satisfied with both. Any problems we have encountered have been fixed immediately.

On site I don't think there is a noticable difference between resorts. I think it's possible to get bad service or a difficult/stressed individual CM in any location so one has to judge the over all result, not one or two good/bad individuals.

I would say that, IMHO, the CM's off site at HH or Vero do seem to work that little bit harder to give that aura of Disney magic. Maybe it's because they are not quite so hard pushed (more relaxed guests and not as many deadlines) with fewer guests stressing about getting to a park, catch a bus, get to a PS, maybe it's just a more relaxed location, maybe the people working in smaller areas don't get as stressed as those having to negotiate I4 in order to get to work LOL, maybe the CMs fell not having the parks etc on hand it's up to them to bring the "Disney magic" into the resort. Whatever the reasons, I do feel HH and Vero's staff do put that bit of extra effort into the experience.

I have stayed at BCV twice and always had great service, so that is where I placed my vote. ::MickeyMo :wave2:

My guess is that if someone voted for a specific location, almost always they voted for their home resort. After all, nobody wants anything bad said about their home!

We have found the service to be excellent at all locations. Not to say that there wasn't a grumpy CM here and there, but nothing that was spread throughout any resort. Overall, we have found our dealings with the DVC CM's to be first class.

Vernon, I agree. If Vero had been listed I would have voted for it hands down. At WDW we have had great service at all the resorts on most occasions.

I voted for OKW---but this is probably due in part because I've stayed here most often. I've continually had positive experiences there. Always get the "welcome home".....units have always been clean and ready on time.....staff has gone above and beyond imho. One year we were traveling with my mil. She was undergoing chemo at the time and when we arrived at OKW at 1 pm she was not feeling well. Our room wasn't ready, so I sat my mil in the lobby and went to Olivia's to get some ginger ale for her upset stomach. I explained to the staff what the problem was and one of them went out to the lobby and escorted her to Olivia's. They sat her down, got ginger ale and saltines and didn't even charge us for the soda. Two of the servers there actually sat down with us and struck up a conversation with my mil. She soon felt better and I really feel a big part of that was the care and concern they genuinely showed for us. That's just one of my positive experiences at OKW.
I've also stayed at BWV, VWL and Vero----but only one time each. I'd say Vero would come in second and BWV/VWL tied. There was really no negative experience I've had with any of the staff at these three other resorts, rather I'd just say it was average to good. Just a couple of minor issues at BWV/VWL. Nothing to really mention here unless someone is really interested. I'm not saying these resorts don't go out of their way to treat the guests well, it's just that I, personally, didn't see anything other than what I would expect from these resorts. VWL is the only other DVC resort besides OKW where I got/get "welcome homes". Not that this is a deciding factor or anything but it is nice to hear. I'd probably have to have a couple more stays at the other resorts to give them a fair rating.
