So today I found out that a certain special someone of mine is coming with us on our trip for sure! :goodvibes We hadn't been certain of it until tonight. But now I'm worried that my family won't give us any peace! We want to try and find some nice, secluded places where we can be together, just the two of us, in the parks. So I was wondering..what is everyone's favorite romantic spot? :lovestruc We're definitely going to hit Snow White's grotto, but we're curious about other places to go as we've never been to disneyland before.

(And well..things like Napa Rose are out of our price range, so...maybe don't include that, as much as I would love to go :( )

Pirates Lair Caves:)
Back in New Orleans by the stair case. Cafe Orleans, and Blue Bayou of course! (even just desert!)
Main Street Train Platform
Carnation Cafe
Mark Twain
Movie House

That's all I have for now. Obviously I am a die hard romantic:)

The back area below the deck at the Hungry Bear Cafe seemed to be a nice quiet out-of-the-way spot when I was there, with a nice view of the Rivers of America.

We did the family thing last trip with over ten members. So, I know the feeling.

My answer: anywhere with my wife of 20 years without DD or anyone else. Bayou for dessert would be excellent. Five minutes there and you are in New Orleans. Not DL

-You can get a non swinging gondola on mickeys fun wheel.
-The balcony on the 6th floor of the GCH is sometimes open (the one overlookng the pool, not the WOC balcony)
-That innoventions or carrousel of progress thinggy by autopia is often empty

You could also try a quick little escape to the Hearthstone Lounge area (right off of the GCH lobby area) of the GCH. It's dimly lit and cozy, and you only have to pay for the drinks.

Actually, if I am not mistaken, Napa Rose has its own separate lounge that you can go to for just drinks or snacks, and you don't have to pay the high restaurant prices.

I would have said to stroll through the DLH by the waterfalls, but the waterfalls have been taken away:mad:

Definitely Blue Bayou waterside, even it's just for dessert. There are a lot of quiet spots in and around the GCH lobby as Sherry said. Cove Bar in DCA hasn't ever been crowded when we have gone.

Yes! And they have wines by the glass, you can choose the cheapest one and still be satisfied -- they are all lovely. I love the cheese platter there. It's $16.

Wow! THank you everyone! I love these boards

Huh...I'm most curious about the Blue Bayou dessert thing. They don't mind if you just go in for desserts? I would think they would be upset about you taking a table and not purchasing a whole meal...so that's okay to do?

Also just being in the parks at close. We happened to be in CC riding SM one last time as the park was closing. Since we were "deep" into the park, it was a nice quiet, romatic walk back to the front of the park. Most of the people will be on Main St, so it'll get noisey when you get back there, but it was a wonderful walk with very few people around until we did.

I personally don't see why it would matter what you ordered. There's no "rule" that says you have to eat a full meal or you can't eat there. Now I wouldn't go in and order water or just something to drink, but if you just wanted to dessert or an appetizer I say go for it! Think of it as one table that will be ready sooner for the next guest! :)

You could still get a server with an attitude, but until DL posts a sign some where that says "only full meals here" or stops offering items a la carte on the menus, then I don't think anyone can tell you what you have to order (within reason of course, no water only type thing).

We normally have a full meal, but once we had a big group who just wanted dessert. Even with the large group, there were no issues about just ordering dessert.

They have taken a lot of the desserts off the menu for Blue Bayou so I am not sure if that is even a choice anymore.

I bet they took the cookie-boat dessert off...did they take off the creme brulee? If that's still there, maybe we'll still go...

They still have creme brulee and cake; they just don't have the Pirates themed desserts anymore.

As I understand it, the creme brulee is no longer a trio. Most "dessert only" reviews I've read have sounded disappointed, but it might be worth it for the atmosphere.

As far as the Fun Wheel goes, when we went in June they were seating strangers together (so my party of two was seated with a couple and a little girl). It was fun, but not private. :)

I've never seen the Main Street Cinema busy and the "House of Tomorrow" in Innovations feels like a house, so that might be nice.

Have fun!

They were doing that when DD and I were in line too. I asked the CM if we could have our own gondola and it was no problem. Not sure if we just got lucky, but it's might be worth it to ask. :goodvibes It was my first ride on the moving gondolas and I sure didn't want to get sick with a couple of strangers sitting across from me!

There are some quiet areas/walkways outside of the Grand Californian, entering from Downtown Disney, that is not only beautiful but usually quiet with the monorail passing overhead from time to time. On the opposite end of the hotel they have a fireplace that is usuable to not only the inside of the hotel but on the backside of the fireplace, it is outdoors, with seating in a small cove like area (right outside of the pool area), very nice place to sit with a drink and visit.

I like riding the train around the park after dark. All the lights and sights and sounds make it so romantic! My dh and I do this every time we go (and a moving target is harder to find if you are worried about being tracked down!)
