Hi,

Has anyone been to the Cirque show "Iris" that is playing in Hollywood? We plan to go and tickets are available now but it just shows the "sections" of the theater. We are willing to pay for the top level priced seats but I know from the cirque show in WDW and reading up, that front and center isn't usually the best since you miss a lot around you. For WDW there is TONS of info. almost on every single seat in the theater and the view, etc.

It would really help to get an idea of not just the section for Iris but maybe a better seating chart that you can look at the seats by number, row, etc.

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Not sure. But just stopped in to say that today I found out that I'm going to see Iris for free thanks to good ol' USC! :woohoo: I'm excited!

Awesome! When do you go? Everything I've read on it and the photos look like it will be something we will really enjoy.

Here's a blog that DIS Correspondent Nancy Johnson did about last year about the show. She talks a little about the seating. Warning though...avoid it if you don't want SPOILERS.

I let Nancy know you were asking...maybe she'll pop on soon to give you some advice.

Tom,

I had read this blog and bookmarked it previously, in fact it's how I first learned about "Iris". But I would LOVE it if Nancy gave her recommendations on seating. Thanks for the help!

Oh Rhonna! I'd been swamped this week and never made it to the thread. I did answer your other one about transportation.

My best advice - if you want to pay the price is to get center front of Mezzanine 1. You have a dead straight on view of the aerial acts as they fly towards you. The seats to the left and right in that same mezzanine are cheaper and I would recommend those.

While many like the floor for the closer view to the stage and performers, I feel as though you have to spend a lot of time looking up - especially if you are in the front orchestra. I would pick rear orchestra, but not underneath the mezzanine - that blocks some of your upward view for the trapeze artists suspended from the ceiling. (If you saw the Cirque performance on this year's Oscars, you will understand what I mean - that is the same positioning used in the show - and most of the same acts - all but the contortionist girls.)

You should check for that Oscars performance on YouTube and get a feel for it from the camera angles.

Hope that helps!

We went online yesterday and they were almost sold out! Only single seats scattered around. While we were trying to figure out how to buy two separate seats (it wouldn't let us) our session timed out. I tried again and was SO HAPPY - we got two together in the center Parterre, aisle and very close to the front of that section (row B so only one row in front of us). For where we are sitting, is the mezzanine hanging right over our heads so we can't see the aerial performances? I would think in the front of the parterre it would be okay? It's not the exact same seating layout as WDW but we had similar seats at La Nouba and so I think these are going to be good seats.

I think showing it on the Oscars is filling up the seats for this show!
