Need advice on where to eat good seafood at while we are at Disney...one that is kid friendly. I've seen Flying Fish and Fulton's...the menu didn't seem very big at FF --and I've been reading not so great reviews of Fulton's. Any suggestions for seafood at the parks, downtown dis or resorts?

Kid friendly? Cape May Cafe by far. Dinner buffet with crab legs, fish of the day, clams, mussels, and awesome clam chowder. And there's also BBQ pork ribs, corn on the cob, red potatoes...I could go on and on. We did this for our Christmas Eve dinner and it was excellent.

Did you look at Narcoosees menu? It's more seafood than Flying Fish and much better than Cape May IMO.

Coral Reef at Epcot! I know you are going to get tons of people saying it's too expensive or the food isn't good, but I have done this place for at least 10 years with my "kid" (now nearing college) and we both love it! Get the EARLIEST lunch reservation you can get (usually 11:30), check in WAY early, and ask for an aquarium-side table. The kids will be mesmerized with the view and you can all enjoy a good meal. And it's less expensive at lunch.

As for Fulton's, I'm going to say we enjoy that restaurant as well, that is usually a final day lunch kind of place for us, but the food is good (and I'm a picky seafood eater) and kids are very fine there. For that matter, kids are also FINE in Flying Fish, that is also a great restaurant, but the menu changes very often (remember they have a kids menu too), and the whole dining experience may be too long for very young kids.

What you want to eat , that is the question ??? :D
Narcoosees's menu is really good on seafood have you tried them .

IMO, the best seafood (by far) on Disney property can be found at "bluezoo" in The Dolphin hotel. Every meal we have had there has been outstanding.

I'd say the place is fairly "kid friendly", most love the futuristic atmosphere even though it's not Disney themed.

Best seafood? Tough call...I haven't found any truly good seafood at Disney.

I can say though that Coral Reef is not a good choice - it's a fun restaurant, it is kid friendly, and the food is not bad; but for a sea-themed restaurant there really isn't much seafood on the menu....go figure. :confused3

Just my .02 :hippie:

I'm with cymbaldiva, seafood at Disney is fair to good but none of the places we have been to are blessed with great seafood.
There is a trend now towards more locally caught fish which helps.Floridians are spoiled when it comes to seafood,me particularly since fishing and diving are pretty much what I do for a living:banana:.

We have eaten at Fulton's 4 or5 times and never had a bad meal.

I agree with the poster that wrote that Coral Reef does not have a lot of seafood for a "sea" themed restaurant. My family dined there last trip and didn't love it. We won't be going back for a while.

As far as kid friendly, with seafood, I'd go with Cape May Cafe. The tables are covered with paper that the kids can color right on. There will be lots of families there. My kids love the clams, mussels, fried shrimp. We have not eaten there since the addition of the snow crab legs, but when my DS 14 found out they had them now, he was all over me to book that ADR for our May 2011 trip! :goodvibes

My DD 8 is not a huge seafood lover, and always finds tons of things she enjoys there. Pasta, chicken, sausage, prime rib, pizza, mac and cheese, caesar salad, and she's good!

Oh, and you can get pitchers of beer there. Our servers have always been REALLY good with the refilling of the pitchers...beer goes so great with clams. It is a little noisy with all the families, but it is a very friendly place to eat and we have never had bad service there.

Only commenting on restaurants on the Disney Dining Plan....

We were very happy with the seafood at Flying Fish (better than Narcoosees) and thought it was kid friendly -- by that I mean it's not one of those restaurants where you can hear a pin drop (sound will echo and there's an open kitchen) so children may feel free to make a little noise.... and their children's menu has mickey shaped pasta (one of DS's favorites) and the paint your own puzzle dessert. The boardwalk entertainment outside was fun for all of us.

Coral Reef was fun to watch all the sea creatures... the food was good but no where near as good as Flying Fish.

Reviews of both are at the link below... i

Thanks for the suggestions. Anywhere off-site that you would recommend?

Flying Fish, California Grill, and Narcoossee's all have great seafood. All are pricey signature restaurants, but worth it in our opinion. The Flying Fish menu changes daily. We went twice in the same week (great both times) and had many different options. Anything online will just be from that given day, but the size of the menu is probably a fair representation.

My favorites, in order, are Flying Fish, bluezoo, Roy's (offsite, but nearby, and excellent) and Fulton's. Fulton's is a more conventional upscale seafood house, with a large selection of simply-prepared dishes. Flying Fish has a more limited menu, but features the kind of "chef-driven" dishes that I find much more interesting. All are suitable for kids, even if not overtly so (which to me is a plus).

Fulton's was GREAT for lunch. I had the crab legs they were great! Prices are better too at the lunch time hour. I think you will find great food no matter where you pick to eat!

Cape May is great! I didn't fit it into our Christmas Trip two weeks ago and we really missed it.

I thought that the Coral Reef was terrible our one and only visit there. Very bland salad, and the seared tuna was plain as can be with a very small portion of rock shrimp risotto.

This trip, we are trying the buffet at CMC as we've heard it's very good!
