Best seafood restaurants within walking distance?

I just noticed there is a Roy's at Garden Walk mall, and their menu looks great.

I haven't eaten at this location, but ate there in Honolulu and it really was a wonderful meal, fabulous service.

If you have a vehicle and are willing to drive a few miles, which is the best! Taking my father in law who loves seafood and would like to find a few options!!! Thanks

ps. looking forward to trying the two in the gardenwalk as we are staying right by there. Where else should we try?

My family really enjoys any seafood, especially the fresh fish, from Roy's at Garden Walk. We have eaten at Roy's all over the US. Originally, from Huntington Beach and have family spread all over southern California. Whenever we visit DLR my siblings, cousins and other family members gather here for a dinner.

Hey thanks guys! Just got back from my visit to DLR. So we ended up at Blue Bayou. After talking it over with my wife, we decided on Blue Bayou, Steakhouse 55, or Napa Rose since those were the only ones we hadn't tried (Roy's, Bubba Gump, Joe's, and McCormick's are all quite good too but since we live in CA they weren't quite as "novel").

We'd originally decided on Napa Rose, but decided to try out Blue Bayou since usually I don't bother going inside the park during my wife's Disney trips (I usually wind up at Staples for some kind of sports event while she hits Disney with the kids haha) and I actually had a ticket this time. Plus we got lucky because there was a Blue Bayou dinner cancellation 10 minutes before we got there and we got the open slot even though they were fully booked. Anyhow food was decent, perhaps a bit limited in variety and high in price for what you get, but hey the place had a nice ambiance and was a nifty experience with the Pirates ride in the background and all, so good times :) Only been to Club 33 as a guest once about 10 years ago, but I seem to recall it being pretty close to Blue Bayou (maybe upstairs???), I wonder if they share the same kitchen or anything ... if so, too bad they don't give you the champagne from Club 33 because a glass of wine was really the only thing missing! Ok, and it was a mild bummer that they only have the Monte Cristo sandwich available during lunchtime :( I would've foregone any seafood aspirations to sample that gut brick of a sandwich!

Might be headed back this weekend again, so we'll probably check out Napa Rose this time. Looked good, and I made sure to check out what the patrons were wearing ... saw a couple guys in basically swimming shorts eating in there, so I'd feel totally comfortable going in my dressy Silicon Valley shorts now :rotfl: Thanks again, cheers for all the fine suggestions!

You can get the MC from CO as well. CO and BB share a kitchen, not sure about Club 33. It is near BB, you probably walked by the sign. :)

So is the MC worth it for a junk food lover extraordinaire :) I think I'm headed back down to DLH this weekend with the fam but am undecided on whether I'll get a park ticket for myself or not. Leaning toward hanging around DLH and watching sports on TV and then hitting the LA Kings game on Monday instead (I know, blasphemous to say that on DISBoards right??? ;)) But when I looked up pics of the MC sandwich, tears of joy started to well up in my eyes ... should I ask my wife to retrieve one for me while she's in the park? The thought of downing one of those, washing it away with a soda, then laying on the couch watching sports, aaahhhhhh... :woohoo:

Just sneaking into the thread: I bookmarked the McCormick and Schmick suggestion as we don't have one of those here in BC and after reading the menu... we need one!!! It all sounds delicious.

On our next trip down we hope to take advantage of some of the restaurants close to the park. Some of the chains you guys are so used to are complete novelties to us. I'm excited about the chance to have a burger at Carl's jr at the Anaheim airport for goodness sake :rotfl:

Well, I like it, but there's no way I can eat a whole one by myself. Usually DBF orders one, I order a bowl of gumbo and a salad (this is at CO not BB) and we share. The problem, I'm pretty sure your wife can't get one for you to go, she'd have to go in, sit down, order the sandwich and then have it boxed up to go after she doesn't eat any of it......They don't do take out orders at CO or BB.
