Hi Cali-D. First let me apologize for the question...I Know you've heard that particular one a ZILLION times! However, in reading all your posts, you are the most patient, and friendliest person, so I knew you'd respond! We are coming the first week in Dec. 2003! We can only do the "World" every other year, being a family of 5!! My requests, are a daybed, roomy balcony, and MOST important, an unobstructed view of the castle! I appreciate your thoughts. I have seen a few pics of a few rooms on this board. I really liked one at Big Pine Key # 9344, great view...but the furnishings inside (wallpaper, and bedspreads looked VERY "busy") So not sure what the other rooms w/ equally as great a view, and balcony look like inside. I am sure this sounds so trivial, but when you have to save for 15 months, you tend to build everything up. One thing we do, is have the entire trip PREPAID~!~ Yes, down to valet tipping, and mousekeeping!! I like to go w/ a grand to "spend",not including lunch and dinners in the parks. So, it takes us 15 months to save for one INCREDIBLE week of Pixi Dust!! Again, thanks for your thoughts!!:D :D

Hi! :) I know exactly what photos you are talking about (9344). I've stayed in this section of Big Pine Key before, and really liked it. In the pictures, the rooms do look busy! They look SO MUCH BETTER in person. Everything really blends together well.

This same view can be had by lagoon view in Boca Chica. Here is a picture of a room in Boca Chica:

For a family of five, you are guarenteed a room with two queens and a daybed, as well as a full size balcony.

Either reply to the thread or send me a private message if you have any other questions that I can help you out with. ;)

Cali is absolutely right, we thought the rooms looked to busy, but in person it seems to work. Having stayed in castle view at conch & big pine, we prefer the big pine building. location is better & the view is more "sweeping" . I would also recommend if you really want a magic kingdom view the contempary tower cannot be equaled in view. Have a great trip!:) :)

I had a room on the 12th floor of the tower (the club level) and I'll tell you something --- that was an awesome view! Especially during the fireworks, it was the most perfect view, you were almost at the same height as the fireworks. :)

Ok, we are staying comtempary on our next trip (2003) and I planned to do a garden wing room for budget reasons. You guys however have gotten me wishing for this wonderful view. What kind of price will I be looking at for value season with AAA discount if I go with one of the tower rooms?

The best tower price room I've ever had was 199.00 about 2 years ago. And that was ap discount. Your probably looking at very high 200's now. (with discount). Depends what season, and how much of discount.

I too looked at Contemporary Tower Club. With our DC discount, it was workable...however, I knew in my heart, the whole time there, I'd be thinking, I REALLY wished we were at the Grand Floridian! So, we'll do GF and maybe next trip try CR. Though I'v heard, once at the GF, the other resorts never really compare? I guess I won't know till we are there!

Actually, I've stayed at both the All-Stars and the Grand Floridian. Nope, they really didn't compare, but I wouldn't say I was let down by it (I went in expecting the All-Star to be horrible, so that might be why I enjoyed it). Also stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge. They were all nice, I'd stay at them all again. I really enjoyed my stay at the Contemporary, really debated whether or not to stay there this time (I guess I just need another stay at the GF right now!).

The Contemporary tower rooms are around $330 a night in value season, AAA gives 10-15% off. When I stayed there, the Tower Club was running $505/night, which is a bit much (it was either going to be that or WL Concierge, $445/night!). I really hate holiday season rates - if you can avoid them, do so! Anyways, I am glad we stayed in the tower and not the garden wings. It has been a dream of mine to stay in the tower, MK side, and it came true. And it was just that, a dream come true! I remember when I was little, looking at the Disney brochures, and kept turning to the page with the picture of the Contemp Tower!

I was reading mousesavers tonite and they list the summer tower discount code for 225.00 / nite. If this is correct that is really a good price. Almost called to switch my poly concerige gv ressies, but we haven't been to poly in a few years and need a polynesian infusion! Hmmmm maybe october, if prices are this good? MKY

This past Dec. we stayed at the Poly in a lagoon concierge room (#1512) that had a GREAT view of the castle. If it's in the budget, concierge service is really neat. Here's a link to my pictures from the Poly (including the room view):

We have stayed in almost every Disney resort, including the Grand Floridian. The Grand was nice, but I have not had an overwhelming desire to return. When Wilderness Lodge opened, we much preferred that to the Grand. The atmosphere was much more homey and friendly.

I know that everyone has their own preferences and styles. If I got a really good rate at Grand Floridian, I would stay again, but would not pay significantly more for that resort than others.

I really appreciated all the input. DH and I decided to split our next stay, GF and Cont.Tower Club. Both will give us a great castle view, and are monorail resorts. DH and DS are going parasailing at Cont. plus,we had already decided on character breakfast at Chef Mickey's!! Again, thank you all!:D :D :D

Just remember, of the 48 rooms at the Contemporary Tower Club, 24 have the Magic Kingdom View and 24 have the Bay View. :)

I've also stayed at the Polynesian Concierge, Lagoon View. Excellent direct view of the castle! That castle was dead center in the middle of my balcony! ;)

I have done this same exact split. The first half of the trip, we stayed at the Contemporary Tower Club, then the second half we were at the Grand Floridian Lagoon View. Excellent trip!

We will do the same Ca-Dreaming, do Contemporary first, then GF.When I call in my ressies, I will specifically ask for a Castle View at CR, and at GF, asking for Big Pine Key,Lagoon View,Un-obstructed Castle View. That should do it. I know it's not guranteed, but the more specific, the better. Now the hard part, WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
