We're checking in next Sunday, first trip home to BCV... How do I go about securing the best possible room. We've only made one request... NON-SMOKING. Any suggestions on how to get a nice room (view, location, etc...) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what you think a good room is. Do you want to see what you can of the illumination? Then you ask for the Epcot view. The road is also there too though.

We will be there Monday and like action so we have requested the pool side and a higher floor.

You can ask for the court side (quiet with some woods) or pool (with some parking lot view).

I would recommend you look at a map of the hotel and then decided what best fits what you like.

We like quiet and don't care about a view unless it's flat-out ugly. So we ask for "non-smoking, non-handicapped, quiet location" in that order. That tends to get us a high floor with a woodlands view, which is fine for us.

We stayed at BCV a couple of weeks ago, and our only request was NS. We ended up with a great room---4th floor, views of the woods in the middle and over that we could see the top half of the Eiffel Tower, Amer. Pav. and Japan. It was quiet and interesting at the same time--the kids loved watching a bunch of bunnies hopping down the path in the evening. The stroll to the IG bridge was easy. Anyway, my point being, I figured it was better to stay and get acquainted with BCV in whatever room we happened to get for the first visit--no disappointment that way, and pure delight in what we got. I guess an Epcot view could have been nice, but we were only in the room one night during fireworks, and trading off the noisy road view wouldn't have been as pleasant for us in the end. JMHO

BTW, if you are anything like we are, you will end up LOVING BCV. This trip made me and dh so glad we bought into DVC.

First let me say, I personally don't think there are any great views a BCV ... but I don't think there are any really bad ones either. So getting one room over another isn't really that big a deal.

You could request a view - Pool, canal, Epcot (although I heard they are not using that name anymore), courtyard...

You could request a floor - Upper floor, Lower floor, First Floor, Top Floor, etc.

You request a location - Near Self-Parking lot, Near Main Elevators, Near Elevators, Close to BC, Near laundry..

What they have available the day you check in may be limited, so don't get you hopes set on one view.

I don't know how to describe this adequately--there are about 5 or six rooms on the top floor that because of the architecture of the BCV have smaller balconies that are enclosed-not open...I did not like that we were in one of these...it was a 1BR...room 529 I think...anyway...I would steer clear of those rooms if you can, but I doubt the front desk will know...just stay off the 5th floor and you should be okay...there are also some with HUGE balconies on the pool view side...I would have loved one of those...
