Best Room Request for BCV?

Hello! We just rented DVC points for next March for a 2BR Villa at Beach Club Villas. We need a dedicated 2BR for our party and are not keen on an Epcot/Woods view bc many seem to look at a service road and have very little actual views of Epcot. Research tells me we would prefer: 1. Pool and/or Canal View and 2. Upper Floor in wing closest to bus stop / Beach Club.

First, do you have to call with those requests? The options avail online are very basic (high/low floor, near elevator, or large balcony preference only).

Second, do you agree that this would likely put as in a good place? We'd also love a large balcony, but haven't figured out how to tell if a room has one or not!

Any helpful hints on what to put in for a simple request would be great!

We own at BCV. We go at least once a year. I have NEVER gotten a request. That said, I have never gotten a room i hated. Last years was close though. BCV runs near 100% occupied. The Villa you want needs to available the morning you check in. The odds aren’t great.
I believe with rented points your request needs to be made by the member. Disney will not talk to you.
What you have described sounds good and needs to be called in.
Good Luck

Thank you for your input! I'm sure we won't hate any room!

I am able to choose two of the basic requests with online check-in, but yes, I understand that the more specific request would have to be made through the DVC member. Right now I'll just click 1. Upper Floor and 2. Large Balcony from the pull down menu and then have the member request the pool side view.

A dedicated 2-bedroom villa is a booking category at the BCV for DVC owners. If the person from whom you rented booked one, then that'a what you will get. If they booked a lock-off, you're getting a 1-bedroom+studio combination. You cannot request a different villa than what has been booked.

We own at BCV. Not many great views. We have gotten various ones but mostly trees/road, part of parking lot/road. Once we had a tiny view of Spaceship Earth/Epcot. The only requests we will make at any resort is near elevator/pool. Good luck!

Yes, that's what we booked was a dedicated. I'm not requesting a different villa type. My confirmation just said "2 Bedroom Villa", so I was worried that it didn't specify, but they just reassured me that this means I did get the dedicated room. If I didn't, it would have said "lock-off".

Yep, I'm not there for the views. I'll just have them request pool side then and see what happens! Thanks for your response!

You may not want to make one set of requests by having the member call and a different request from the pull down. That may lead to confusion about what you really want b

ok, thanks. the owner is going to put in upper floor and pool view for me. Pool view is not an option online though, so my online check in click say upper floor and large balcony. Is that an issue? Do I need to just leave them blank online?

Yes it might be. I only do one or the other. Never both, even if they are different b

I don't usually do requests much but on the DVC boards it is always recommended to either call into MS or do the online check in requests but not both.

BCV isn't known for the views. The best thing about it to me is being able to hop over to Epcot around 8:45 to watch Illuminations and be back in the villa by 9:30. I'm not even a fan of Stormalong Bay because of the crowds (and I hate the sinking sands). I like the Dunes Cove pool much better.

Right. Like I said above, I actually am not asking for a view, bc I hear there really aren't any. I'm very excited to be able to walk right into Epcot with young kids. I more so just wanted to put in the location request of which part of the building to stay in and didn't know how to do it with only the preset drop downs provided at online check in.

I know my kids will LOVE stormalong bay, although I'm sure it will be anything but relaxing for me. Luckily Im bringing both grandmas to help ;-)
