Hi all

Not sure if anyone has posted this sort of thing before
and thought it might be fun

Just wonted to know what peoples views are on:

The best room locations and maybe room numbers for each DVC resorts.
be it studios,1 bed,2 bed etc

The wife and I are taking our first trip to our DVC this coming november,
so no comment from me as yet on locations or room numbers

cheers

'Best' is a relative phrase. What I consider to be 'best' may be someone else's idea of less than terrific. It all depends on what your needs are.
What resort are you headed to and do you have any specific needs?? Some like to be close to an elevator due to mobility issues, but others prefer being further away from them due to the possibility of more noise.

I agree with the PP.

One persons "best" might be the worst room location ever for another person.

Tell us more about what you like in a room, and we can all tell you if our "bests" - fit your needs/likes.

For us, the best is BLT, doesn't matter what rooms or where. We bought in because of that resort and it's location to MK.

We stayed in a LV studio last summer, and had a partial MK view which was great (#8206).

We are trying BCV this summer so we will see where that lands.

Okay, I will bite. These are our favorites.

BLT - lake view, 5th floor or higher, north wing, inner circle, looking south.
BWV - Boardwalk view, above general store, upper floor has less noise.
VWL - upper floor, lake side (woods will generally block the lake view)

Best: Boardwalk view BWV

2d Best: savanna view AKV , numerous good areas.

3d: high floor MK view BLT (which you can actually also get with some lake view rooms on the north wall)

4th: A number of rooms in the Congress Park area of Saratoga Springs which have views across lake to Downtown Disney

So do you want a review of all the thousands of rooms???? Since I can safely say NONE of us have ever stayed in them all, that's a pretty tall order.

My list would be:
OKW just about any building, but especially 45, 46, 15, 16,18, 20, 55
AKV Anything with a Savanna view that isn't a mile walk down the hallway
AKV concierge
SSR DTD view

like water views - so far got them at OKW, SSR, VWL, BLT, BCV, BWV, AKV(pool - Jambo house),

even in standard view - BLT, BWV, AKV(jambo house)

Most of our stays have been at the Boardwalk. To me, we haven't had a "best" room. When we were on the ground floor in a standard view room, the view wasn't great - but it was the best location we've ever had for pool access. When we had a Boardwalk View over Big River, the fireworks view was wonderful, but we were a longish way from the lobby. When we were over the Screen Door, most of the fireworks were blocked and the noise from the boats and the games was louder, but it was very convienent to get to. Our third floor standard view room lacked the quick pool access - but we had glimpses of fireworks lacking from the first floor room and it was close to stairs - for the standard view points, it was a great room.

I'm with the folks that say that "best" is in the eye of the beholder.

For example, I know a lot of folks don't want to have to walk far so a room that's a long way from the entrance/elevator would never be considered "best". OTOH, for those of us who prefer quiet a room near the end of the hall is great.

How about those who want to be near a bus stop? Or perhaps those that prefer to be near their cars?

Maybe we like to get away from the hustle of the parks when we go back to our DVC unit. Or maybe we want to be right there.

Too many choices - I guess I'll have to try them all. :3dglasses

I posted this thread just for a bit of fun

its good to see what others see as there best

thanks for the input

fun reading

cheers

I'm just curious about why you left out 17. As I remember, buidings 16, 17, and 18 are right in a row. We loved 18,and expected 17 to be as nice. Anything bad? Or am I overthinking here, and maybe it's something as simple as you haven't stayed in 17?

Actually I could have included 17, but I've never stayed there. I specifically did NOT include 19 though because of the proximaty to the pool.

The best DVC room is any room I'm staying in :rotfl:
Yep! I agree!

Other than that...
1) Anything with a fireworks view
2) Anything with a water view
3) Anything with an animal view (more specifically at AKV)...

...not necessarily in that order. :cloud9:

No kidding!!
The BWV studio I love the most is the one that is 2 doors down from the elevator, 5th floor. Overlooks the Village Green, but I can see a large chunck of the boardwalk, as well as the higher IllumiNations fireworks.

But, all in all, I have loved just about all my villas...only one or two were less than desirable. Now, with our first stay at BLT, in a MK view studio, we'll see which list that one goes on.

I can only give an opinion on SSR and I would say grandstand is the best place to stay for us..no view, but great for bus, and close to main building... (short walk). We have stayed at the grandstand and congress park.. congress park had a better view, but was a further walk from everything and next to last bus stop before going to parks.
