Best room location at POFQ

After tons of debate... we have finally decided on booking POFQ. Now I'm wondering if anyone has an advice on a bldg to request. We'd like to be close to the bus stop and food court if possible and would rather not pay the extra $$ for the preferred room location.

So does anyone have an opinion on a good building that is not a preferred room? Also if you do have a bldg request, do you make that request when the reservation is made or when you arrive?

Thanks!
Erin

Building 4 is closest to the food court and bus stop.

You can add it to your ressie, and they will try to honor it. Keep in mind, now that the entire resort is smoke free it tends to be a highly requested building because of it's location. But so are buildings 2 and 5 cuz of their locations to the pool. Not that any building is very far from anything at that resort, which is why so many people like it. One of my fav things is its own bus stop at MK.

We stayed at POFQ just a week ago. We were in bldg 7, room # 7128. We had a courtyard view, and were close to the bus and foodcourt. Initially I was kind of dissapointed when I heard which bldg # we were assigned, but we ended up loving the location. POFQ is such a nice resort. We really liked it there alot. Also, being in bldg 7, we did not hear any of the noise from the pool. It was really peaceful and relaxing.

You've picked a great place to stay! We stay here every trip. We request building 4. The standard room overlooks a nice courtyard. It has easy access to the bus stop/parking lot. It is also very close to the main building/food court. I personally think all the buildings are nice. We made our request at the time of booking and then made another request 2 weeks before our trip. I think you will enjoy this resort. I hope this info helps a little.

Have a great trip!

I just wanted to add that we were in bldg 2 (opposite side from the pool facing a beautiful courtyard). We were just steps away from the pool, food court, lobby, bus stop, and even the boat to DTD.

I wouldn't really worry about room location at POFQ. I always make a point when staying at a new resort to walk around and take notes about which rooms I think are good and the not so good ones. I didn't find a room at POFQ that I thought would be "bad".

I kinda stressed some about our room location before we went, but like I said, we were well pleased with our assignment, so don't stress...I'm sure everything will be fine!

Have a fantastic trip!!!

We went last year in early Dec. and stayed in building 5. I'm not sure of the exact room location but it faced the pool but not a direct view(not preferred) and it was close to everything. Pool, food, bus stop, laundry, playground. It was prefect for the kids. I would recommend that location.

POFQ is so pleasantly compact that there's no such thing as an inconvenient location.

Like you, I was very eager to get the best possible location before we went. I put in a request on my reservation for a room "close to food court and transportation." Looking at a map, I was hoping for Building 4.

We checked in very late at night. I was quite disappointed when the front desk CM gave me a paper map and circled our room location at the far end of Building 2.

That is, I was disappointed until we got to the room. It was a 2 minute walk to the food court (I timed it). That's great! It's a shorter walk from Building 4, yes, but it was still a short walk.

If you put Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates and the Queen of England in a room, Oprah would be the "poorest" person in the room, even though she's fantastically rich. A "far" room at POFQ is still really close to the food court and bus stop.

And by the way ... there's no such thing as "preferred location" at POFQ.

we recently stayed and we were in building 6 waterview. It was a great location. We had my dgd with us who is 17mos. When we were told what building we were in I was disappointed until we got to the room. It was perfect. Each morning I took my dgd for a walk to the food court and then the bus stop. With her it was a short walk of maybe 3 minutes. The best thing about this location was I was able to listen to the carriage each night as it passed our building and watch it and the boats each evening all lite up. It was very quiet so that she could nap and sleep without interruption. The pool, food court and bus stops are so convenient at every building that I think the only difference is that the closer you are to these areas the more noise and foot traffic that you have. You will love whichever building as they are perfectly located.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents!! LOL As everyone has said, there is not a bad location at FQ - and one of the nice things about a room in the middle or end is being able to walk through the quaint courtyards - it is such a pretty resort!

We've had a room in building four 3 times, all corner rooms - once the very first room next to the food court, ground floor, same room on the second floor and on the top floor! As great as it was to be soooo close, we really wished we had a room a bit further away so we could enjoy walking through the resort.

One would have to walk at a snails pace to make the distance more than 5 mins end to end of this resort. :)

Enjoy!! Hope you have a magical visit!

Everything is so compact at POFQ that your room location is relative. It's quick to get to/from anywhere on the grounds. :thumbsup2

Each time we stayed there we were in the South Quarter (I think Buildings 1, 3 & 7). It took us about 60 seconds to get from our car in the parking lot to our room.

This is our favorite moderate! As a matter of fact, we may be staying there for Christmas next year.

We stayed there just a couple of weeks ago (9/22-27). I had called a few weeks before our trip and requested Bldg 4. With two little ones, I wanted to be close to the bus stop. I was pleasantly surprised upon check in that my request was honored. We stayed in Bldg 4 (room 4222 or 4220?) , second floor, facing the parking lot, and the side next to the food court. We could see the bus stop from our window. I thought it was the best location for us. After a tiring day at the park, it was nice to walk just mere steps to our room--especially, when I had to carry a sleeping toddler.
