Best ROOM at Disney?

Magic Kingdom View @ the Contemporary Resort

Crescent Lake View with large balcony @ the Beach Club Resort

We will spend 5 nights at Disney Cabins, we will be travelling with our 12 year old daughter and 15 year old son. Is the pool in this area good, or "just a pool"
I can consider changing to Port Orleans or another moderate resort if you think the pool will be better somewhere else.
We plan on relaxing in the resort the day we arrive prior to dinner at Hoop Dee Doo, the we will head to parks
thanks for any information you have

Welcome to the Dis!

The FW main pool was remodeled a couple of years ago. There is a FW board. There were a lot of pictures of the pool. (I haven't looked in some time.) They took a couple elements from RC and added them to the pool.

Enjoy your stay!

I second the MK view at CR...we were lucky enough to be chosen as family of the day in 2010 pixiedust: ...we have forever been spoiled and won't stay anywhere else!! :thumbsup2

So jealous! That sounds incredible. :)

It was our best upgrade ever! It was for four nights over Memorial Day weekend and I was already thrilled about our super room rate for Atrium Club. The suite consisted of a regular theme park view room with a huge parlor with sofa sleeper, two chairs and coffee table and entertainment wall. Then there was a dining room area with table for either six or eight, wet bar kitchen area with sink and mini fridge. You entered the suite into a foyer with the best part, to the right was another FULL BATH with marble shower stall, ( the girls took that immediately). The balconies were awesome, extended the entire length of the suite so it was like having three or four sections. Truly magical, although it completely ruined our teen girls for anything less!

I love AKV Kidani. We stay in a 2br villa, I love the king sized bed and the HUGE bathroom with jetted tub and separate shower big enough for my family of 6 to fit in all at once. The Savannah view is awesome...i mean how cool is it that you can get up in the morning and take your coffee cup out to the balcony and watch all the animals. The kitchens have nice stainless appliances a dining area and there's a good living area too. the 2nd br has 2 queen sized beds and it's own bathroom. and one thing AKV has that really keeps me coming back...The 3rd bathroom off the living area... with a teenage daughter I can't tell you how much i enjoy that 3rd bath.

I guess that's why I have a hard time with finding a reason to stay at the Grand Floridian. It looks beautiful but the room looks pretty much like all the other (less expensive) deluxe hotels.

My issue with the GF rooms is that they all look like my grandma's attic. In the 90's. I know I have decidedly modern tastes, but I just think the rooms should look SLIGHTLY nicer for $500 a night.

The best room I've ever stayed at is a MK-view CR room, and we were upgraded to club level for free. Only happened once though!

My DREAM Disney room is definitely the Royal Asante Suite, WOW. AKL is my favorite resort, and that suite looks absolutely gorgeous!

Our favorite so far was a one bedroom suite at Bay Lake Tower. It was great!

I third this! Nothing beats seeing the fireworks that close and waking up the next morning with Cinderella's castle right out your window.

We loved our one-bedroom at BLT, too. And we loved the one-bedroom at Kidani.

Kidani is probably my favorite, because I love the theme so much at AKL. I thought both the room size and furnishings made for a luxurious visit.

The rooms at the Poly are huge!! Fans, a sitting area and closeness to MK are wonderful. If you get a ground floor room, you have a little patio area that is nice to sit outside at night if weather permits!

Room 3009 at the Yacht Club. It was a huge corner room, with a balcony, kind of far, but if you went in the outside entrance it was fine, and a fantastic view, especially at night!!!

It's not about location or the view or the balcony... The best room I ever stayed at was the first time we stayed at the ASMovies.. It was very very clean and it smelled so good. No stains on the carpet, I didn't see any nicks on the furniture, we had the turbo toilet, all the fixtures were working. The bed was comfortable even though it was only full size beds. Would I go back again.. of course!! It's my favorite value resort! :thumbsup2

Edit to Add: No bugs whatsoever! :)

I've stayed at Deluxe, Moderate, and Value resorts and when it comes to the actual rooms it seems like there is little difference. You might get a bigger bed, an extra sink, slightly more space, or a balcony, but it doesn't seem like there is much else.

So I am wondering what everyone feels is the best ROOM they ever had without accounting for the resort (ie. not pools, location, restaurants, monorail, etc.)

I'd love to be able to stay in a suite on every trip. My "dream" room is probably a Garden Suite at BWI.

As for standard rooms, hotel rooms at Disney simply aren't comparable to the outside world. You're paying for proximity and amenities.
The decor at AKL was more aesthetically pleasing than that at CBR, but without the outside influences they're not hugely different. Our view at AKL was also better than at CBR. I suppose it really depends on priorities and what you want out of your vacation.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next rehab of the rooms at the GF. The decor of the rooms is pretty much the only thing keeping me from wanting to spend at least part of my next trip there.

We have to have balconies with at least a pool view. Best room was probably at AKV. Loved the theme and the room was very spacious. Savannah view helped, too!

I always look for the room to be near the lobby. I like when it is one whole hotel instead of the lobby area with buildings of rooms around it. I like how at AKV, BC, Contemporary, etc. the room is near the lobby. I loved when staying at AKV the room was right by one of the bridges and we were able to look down at the lobby.
