My son will be turning 6 on the day we check in at our resort. We can go to any park we want that day or any restaurant on the Dining Plan. Can anyone recommend the best one to go to for his birthday? Any help would be great!!thanks

What does he like to eat, and does he like characters?

He likes all characters! He likes to eat chicken fingers or pasta. Any restaurant that is better for celebrating kids birthdays?

I totally agree with Chef Mickey's. We took my daughter there for her 7th birthday in August. She absolutely loved it! They do a fun little celebration for all celebrating birthday's. If you do book Chef Mickey's, make sure to mention that it is your son's 6th birthday upon booking.

ditto Chef Mickey - also ask them about the table decorations you can add on for birthdays next year - they look fun....you can pre-order a birthday cake to have served at your table or if you don't they will bring him a birthday cupcake....

I'm chiming in here on chef Mickey's also. It was our 4th character meal and our last of the 8 day trip and my kids still loved it. There is just something about the fab 5. We didn't feel rushed either. When we got there our waitress explained exactly what rotation the characters went in so we were never scared to get up and go get more food. The kids loved the food there. We had already done so many meals and this and crystal palace breakfast were by far my two favorite and probably the only "must do's" on our next trip.

Make sure to tell them it is your son's birthday and they will bring him out a cupcake. The table next to us ordered a birthday cake and they never even touched it because the desserts at Mickey's are too good to pass up so I think it was kind of a waste personally.

Okay so back to the food. They have ample kids food and it was one of the better that my kids had. My kids ate the cheeses and meats off the salad bar as well and it doesn't really get better than Mickey mouse macaroni. I felt that a good amount of the adult food could be kid friendly as well like baked chicken, turkey, and mickey ravioli.

Just so OP knows, there is no guarantee on the cupcake, and now since all the new celebration type items are available for purchase, I wonder if there won't be fewer given out.

I also think CM is a good choice for boys. :)

If you are willing to use 2 TS credits I would say Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue! It was fun for my whole family and they recognize birthday's!! I saw a boy who went for his fifth birthday and he looked like he was having a blast.

If he prefers the Pooh Bear characters, Crystal Palace would be a good option. They decorated the table for DMom and gave her a cupcake and card. (and she's 56 :rotfl: )
Also, when we were there in August, Whispering Canyon Cafe was recognizing people's birthdays with all kinds of activities (singing, hokey pokey etc.)
Of course, as mentioned, nothing's guaranteed.
