What would you say is the best TS restaurant in MGM & why?

Brown Derby is our favorite at MGM but a mile. BD is really the only place we enjoy eating at MGM ... for some reason we always seem to have trouble finding good food there. We like to eat a late lunch at the BD. We really like the Cobb salad and the grapefruit cake. Yum! :)

I like Sci-Fi. It's not gourmet food by any means but if you like burgers, sandwiches and fries it's really good. But the atmosphere really makes it special. The service was great. Very efficient and we never felt rushed. We were so comfortable and relaxed in there we almost forgot we were in the middle of an amusement park

again a few....mama melrose...good food, brown derby---cobb salad, 50's prime time cafe...good food and lots of fun,

Terk....how come no thread on both DD and AK???
ak has to be rainforest cafe - food and atmosphere

DD...a few fav's once again....Portobello - food, Fulton's Crab House...food, Planet Hollywood...atmosphere and food, and Earl of Sandwich for the sandwiches

Mama Melrose...good food and great atmosphere...love the fantasmic dinner package!

Brown Derby!!!

The food was excellent, portions generous for the price, great service and good atmosphere. I will eat there again for sure!

my family loves Sci-Fi.

It's a one-of-a-kind, and the burgers and shakes are awesome!

I totally agree with some of the previous posts. Brown Derby hands down is our favorite TS restaurant at MGM. Grapefruit cake is to DIE for! We have decided to try a new TS restaurant during our March trip, so I made ressies for the Fantasmic Dinner Package...this time at Mama Melrose's, so I am glad to see a few posters mention that restaurant, too.
Gosh....I want a piece of that cake right now..... :teeth:

We love the BD and never miss it. (usually for lunch) We keep meaning to try Mama Melrose but can't stay away from the BD.

For Food - Brown Derby
For Service - Mama Melrose's
For Atmosphere - 50's Prime Time

It depends on what's important to you. Everything I ate at Brown Derby was excellant, and could possibly be the best meal I ever had, I tried Sci-Fi as well, and thought the food there was mediocre, (but it's close to Prime Time for atmosphere.)

I actually like all five of them! I'd rather eat TS at MGM than at MK any day. But Brown Derby is definitely "best" in the usual sense of the word. If you're looking for comfort food with atmosphere, Sci-Fi and 50's are both good in different ways.

My vote is for the 50's Primetime Cafe. I have always had good food & great service there. Sci-Fi is ok, but thought the food quality was just so-so.

Well I have to say for cullinary taste, hands down the Brown Derby. The cobb salad is the best I have ever had, and the coconut shrimp was amazing. For atmosphere, however, it is just a restaurant. If you want good food but louder/fun surroundings, I'd try the 50's PTC, or Mama Melroses. I was also impressed with the quality of food at Hollywood & Vine for buffet... but if you are in search of the best food, I'd have to vote for Brown Derby!

We never miss dinner at Mama Melrose's. We went on our first trip together and had the most wonderful experience and have been back every single trip since. We always make a point of trying to get Kevin as our waiter. Only once have we had somone else and he was very good as well.
